Composer reveals part from The Last of Us 2 Soundtrack

Gustavo Santaolalla has treated fans to a brief clip of The Last of Us 2‘s soundtrack!

Unfortunately, Sony isn’t attending this year’s E3, which means they won’t be sharing much news about their upcoming title ‘The Last of Us 2’, which has quickly become the most hotly anticipated game of the year.

But that doesn’t mean we won’t be getting any news at all, as the composer Gustavo Santaolalla has given fans a brief preview of the soundtrack he has composed for the new game.

With a smattering of birdsong in the background, this new piece of music does sound similar to pieces from the first Last of Us game, though somewhat more refined and sombre.

Gustavo Santaolalla should be well known amongst the PlayStation community, he composed the soundtrack to the original game and its Left Behind DLC. His return in The Last of Us 2 should make the post-apocalyptic world of the game feel even more haunting.

Voice Actor Praises The Last of Us 2

Ian Alexander, a voice actor from The Last of Us 2, has recently praised his experience working on the game, claiming it was the “best game ever.”

In his tweet, a reply to a fan asking about his experience working on the title, he said it had been an “exhilarating, inspiring, life-changing” experience.

Alexander is probably pretty biased, he is working on the game after all, but seeing someone so clearly passionate for the project is a great indicator for how impressive the game will be when we finally get our hands on the game.

It’s even more poignant when Ian mentions that the team working on the game are “more chosen family”, implying he’s become very attached not just to the project itself, but to everyone who he’s been working alongside.

We still don’t know when The Last of Us 2 is going to release, but if the music and Ian’s comments are anything to go by then it’ll definitely be worth it!
