The Pokemon GO Noxious Swamp event has added brand new Timed Research to complete, and finishing it will give you an encounter with the ultra-rare Pokemon Jangmo-o!

Any Pokemon GO player who logs into the game during the Noxious Swamp event, which is running from 10 AM local time on August 19 to 8 PM local time on August 22, 2023, will get the free Noxious Swamp Timed Research.

It is pretty simple to complete and rewards players with plenty of encounters with Poison and Dragon-type Pokemon. However, as it is Timed Research, it must be finished before the Noxious Swamp event ends!

Overall, the Research Tasks are very simple. However, the final two Tasks take a bit of thinking when you prepare your Raid battle parties.

Win 2 raids using a team of all unique Pokemon species simply requires you to not select two of the same Pokemon in your battle party when you win a Raid. For example, if you have two Charizard in your battle party, you will not progress this Task.

Meanwhile, Win a three-star raid using only Pokemon with 2,500 CP or less requires you to defeat a Tier 3 Raid boss without using Pokemon over 2500 CP. It may be worth taking on these Raids as a team of four Pokemon trainers to ensure you win!

You can complete these Tasks in any order, and once you finish them all, you will earn the completion rewards. This includes an encounter with Jangmo-o!

Completion Rewards

Completing all of the tasks in the Noxious Swamp Timed Research will give you the following rewards:

  • Jangmo-o
  • 50 Salamence Mega Energy
  • 50 Sceptile Mega Energy

As one of the event bonuses for Noxious Swamp is 2x Catch Candy, we recommend you also use a Pinap Berry when catching the Jangmo-o you get as a reward. This will boost the amount of Candy you earn even further!
