The 2023 Pokemon GO World Championships event has added new Timed Research for players to complete – and you can get a costumed Pikachu for completing it!
Any player who logs in to Pokemon GO from 10 AM local time on August 11 to 8 PM local time on August 15, 2023, will get the 2023 World Championships Timed Research.
This Timed Research is quite brief, as it only has a total of five tasks, but the rewards for completing it are great. You can earn Poke Balls and TMs for each task, and then an Elite Fast TM and a costumed Pikachu encounter for finishing it all!

Like all Pokemon GO Research, there are also rewards for finishing all of the tasks. This Research is one of the only ways to get the 2023 World Championships costumed Pikachu!
Completion Rewards
Completing all of the tasks in the 2023 World Championships Timed Research will give you the following rewards:
- Elite Fast TM
- 2023 World Championships costumed Pikachu
As this is Timed Research, it expires at the end of the 2023 Pokemon GO World Championships Celebration event – 8 PM local time on August 15. This means that you only have left to complete it and earn all of the rewards!
