New Super Mario 3D World for Nintendo Switch Trailer Is Here – Includes Bowser’s Fury

Mario’s big adventure on the Wii U makes its way to Nintendo Switch. Here's the new trailer for Super Mario 3D World.

It’s becoming a pretty awesome week to be a Mario fan. Not only has a brand-new game been teased for the Nintendo Switch, now the Super Mario 3D World trailer has dropped!

In case you didn’t know, 3D World was Mario’s big adventure on the Wii U console. Due to the Wii U not living up to expectations, the game isn’t as well-known as other major Mario titles.

It is, however, beloved by fans and was subject to critical acclaim upon release. When Nintendo said they are porting the game to the Switch, many fans rejoiced.

The game was an interesting one, as it was a sequel to the Super Mario 3D Land game on the 3DS. That game was also highly thought of by fans and pundits.

Yet 3D World was much more than just a sequel to ‘3D Land’. The game was considered the next major entry in the 3D Mario series, following in the footsteps of Mario 64, Sunshine, Galaxy and Galaxy 2.

But on top of that, 3D World is also a follow up to the two 2D Super Mario Bros games on Wii U.

3D World’s gameplay style was a hybrid between the traditional 2D Super Mario Bros games and the 3D adventures listed above.

This makes Super Mario 3D World (and 3D Land) rather special in the eyes of many. Who are also happy to see the game get re-released on a more successful console; where more people can enjoy it.

Super Mario 3D World Includes Bowser's Fury

The game also includes Bowser’s Fury, an extensive stand-alone DLC pack. This is also in the 2-minute trailer that dropped today.

This is the first time we’ve caught a glimpse of Bowser’s Fury. The content is brand new and not included in the earlier iteration of 3D Land. We’re excited to play it, as it’s essentially a brand-new Mario game!

More and more Mario games from years gone by are appearing on the Nintendo Switch. Last year, the Super Mario 3D All-Stars brought some of Mario’s earlier adventures to the console.

Yet Galaxy 2 and the 3DS title 3D Land have not yet been ported to Switch. Perhaps they will be included in an All-Stars 2 title at some point?

Maybe we'll learn more when Nintendo decide to hold their next Nintendo Direct show. Whenever that may be!

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will release on the 21st February 2021.

Nintendo is already celebrating it would seem, as they just announced a new Mario themed Nintendo Switch console!

We also may finally know the official name of the mysterious Nintendo Switch Pro.
