Nova Galactic Staryard
The Nova Galactic Staryard is located in the Sol system and orbits the Earth’s moon, Luna.

Unfortunately, you won’t find much here other than dead spacers, as the once bustling headquarters of Nova Galactic has long since been abandoned. You’ll want to head elsewhere for Nova Galatic parts.
Stroud-Eklund Staryard

Stroud-Eklund is famous for its luxury ships and ship parts. They even have one of the Narwhal, one of the best ships in the game, available for purchase. Just make sure you’ve saved up your credits.

Trident Luxury Lines Staryard

Despite its appealing title, you’d fare much better looking elsewhere for your ships and ship parts, as the options are a little lacking compared to the other Staryards in this list.

The Den

The Trade Authority at the Den is one of the best places to sell contraband in Starfield. It also has a great selection of ships and parts to peruse at your leisure.

The Key

The Key is the headquarters of the Crimson Fleet, meaning that you’ll need to be a member of this faction before you are granted access to their base of operations. It’s more than worth it though, as you can get some decent ships, but most importantly, is a place where you can buy shielded Cargo Bays needed for smuggling contraband.

The best Shipyard to purchase and upgrade your ship in Starfield is the Outpost Landing Pad you can build yourself on any Outpost.
This may seem like a strange choice, but your Outpost Landing Pad offers the most complete set of ship parts out of every other Shipyard in the game. It’s the most convenient way to build, customize, and upgrade your ship in Starfield.
It’s important to note that if you still wish to purchase more unique and specific ship parts, you’ll need to head to the corresponding manufacturer’s Staryard to purchase them.

How to Build a Landing Pad & Use it to Buy Ship Parts in Starfield
Follow these steps to build a Landing Pad at your Outpost in Starfield:
- Head to the “Miscellaneous” tab while in the Outpost building menu
- Click on “Landing Pad with Shipbuilder”
- You’ll need the following resources to build it:
- 18 Adaptive Frame
- 2 Zero Wire
- 2 Beryllium
- 30 Iron
- You’ll need the following resources to build it:
- Place the Landing Pad on the ground
- Head to the terminal on the Landing Pad to access the Shipbuilder
- Get ship parts and upgrade your ship to your heart’s content!

How to Unlock Access to More Ship Parts in Starfield
To access more and higher quality ship parts to upgrade your ship in Starfield, you need to spend skill points on your Piloting and Starship Design skills.
This is because you won’t be able to purchase ship parts of a certain class or equip parts of a higher quality onto your ship without ranking these skills.
There are four 4 ranks in total for the Piloting skill in Starfield:
- Rank 1 – You can now utilize ship thrusters.
- Rank 2 – Increased ship turning rate and maneuverability.
- Rank 3 – Unlock the ability to pilot Class B ships.
- Rank 4 – Unlock the ability to pilot Class C ships.
To unlock each rank of Piloting, you need to do the following:
- Rank 1 – Spend a skill point.
- Rank 2 – Destroy 5 ships and spend a skill point.
