Starfield’s Shattered Space is the first DLC that was officially announced during the Starfield Direct stream on June 11.

Despite the fact the base game is yet to launch, players are speculating what the DLC could include and when it will release. Here’s everything we know so far.

What is Starfield Shattered Space?

Starfield Shattered Space is the game’s first story expansion DLC. It was revealed during the Starfield Direct on June 11 and will come with the more expensive Digital Premium and the Constellation Editions of the game.

You can access the DLC as part of these Editions at no extra cost when it eventually releases.

Not much is currently known about the Shattered Space DLC, but some further details can be amassed from developer interviews.

In an interview with IGN, Bethsda’s Todd Howard expressed a keen desire to release story DLC.

Howard assured fans that “a lot” of add-on content will be coming to Starfield. Shattered Space will likely be the first of many DLC expansions “of varying sizes” coming to the game.

As well as a story expansion, you can expect Shattered Space to bring with it new gameplay features to Starfield. Howard mentioned that “there are still things we want to add as far as features in the future” as well as more stories in the vast open universe that Starfield will provide.

Starfield Shattered Space Release Date

The Starfield Shattered Space release date is currently unknown, but the DLC will most likely release in early 2024.

As the base game releases on September 6 2023, early 2024 seems to be a pretty safe bet for Shattered Space. It gives players several months to complete the main story of Starfield.

Starfield Shattered Space – Rumors and Speculation

Though little is known about Starfield’s Shattered Space DLC, this hasn’t stopped the community from putting the pieces together to come up with some pretty compelling theories.

Many believe Shattered Space will have something to do with the Artifacts that were revealed in Starfield’s first gameplay trailer.

These Artifacts will feature prominently in Starfield’s main story. You will most likely be required to hunt around the Galaxy in search of missing Artifact pieces.
