According to one industry insider, Starfield’s release date could be sooner than anticipated. Although details regarding the game are exceptionally scarce right now, gamers may be in for a surprise. Here is everything we know about Starfield and its potential release date window.
Recently, Xbox confirmed its acquisition of Bethesda Game Studios. For players, this means that many can look forward to a plethora of Bethesda titles arriving on Xbox Games Pass, as well as being able to expect exclusive Bethesda titles coming to Xbox consoles.
Although a number of classic Bethesda titles have already made their way to Xbox Games Pass, players are already looking to the future, and into the deep fathoms of space.
Now, Starfield, a game which many have been looking forward to since its teaser trailer back in 2018 has been the topic of recent discussion. However, new insider information has emerged which may hint at when the sci-fi Bethesda title release date could be.
Starfield Release Date Details Emerge
Jeff Grub, a known and trusted insider has revealed his verdict on when Starfield could be arriving. Interestingly, Grubb mentions that it could be sooner than originally anticipated.
Similarly, recently we reported on the rumor that Starfield & Forza Horizon 5 would be releasing this year. This news came from Xbox Editor at Windows Central, Jez Cordon. Interestingly, Jeff Grubb has also highlighted that he thinks Starfield’s release date may be set for a similar time frame.
When asked on Twitter whether Starfield was likely for a 2021 release, his response has given fans hope for the sci-fi open-world game. Furthermore, with the Xbox Series X/S stock shortage about to come to an end, there is no better time to be hearing about Starfield news.
Check out Jeff Grubb’s response just below when asked about Starfield’s release date for 2021. Bear in mind that this is just speculation and as of yet there has been no official word. However, we expect to hear news soon considering E3 2021 is just around the corner.
Seems totally likely. I still think we see it soon, but a release is just so much more unlikely this year for all the reasons we already know”Jeff Grubb – Twitter
As you can see, Grubb believes that Starfield’s release date information could come this year. Interestingly, however, Grubb does mention that a 2021 release is ‘much more unlikely’. Furthermore, there are some that believe Xbox may not want to double up their release window with Halo Infinite looming on the horizon.
Therefore, perhaps two massive titles coming out at the same time may imply that Starfield is better off coming at a later date. As of right now, it is too soon to tell, however, the speculation makes for interesting discussion.
Bethesda fans also have Elder Scrolls 6 announcements to look forward to. Perhaps Xbox has some big surprises in store for this years’ E3 presentation.
In the meantime check out the Xbox xCloud service which could be coming to other consoles. This update could make it easier than ever to play your favorite games on a range of different consoles and formats.
