If you’re watching everyone parade around with their Starfield Early Access and feeling left out, you still have a chance to get into it with the Premium Upgrade Edition.

Starfield just released, and the review scores have soared. Players love this space adventure from Bethesda, and some regret not purchasing the Premium Edition for Early Access.

Thankfully, Bethesda saw this coming and included a Premium Edition Upgrade to help anyone who purchased the Standard Edition and is looking to get into Early Access.

How to Retrospectively Get Early Access in Starfield

If you have the Standard Edition of Starfield or are playing through Game Pass, then you can still get Early Access by purchasing the Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade for £34.99/$34.99.

After you make the purchase, you will be able to immediately jump into Starfield Early Access and take advantage of any of the perks that come with the Premium Upgrade Edition, including:

  • Early Access
  • Shattered Space Story Expansion
  • Constellation Skin Pack: Equinox Laser Rifle, Spacesuit, Helmet, and Boost Pack
  • Starfield Digital Artbook & Original Soundtrack
  • Old Mars Skin Pack

If you already purchased the Starfield Standard Edition, then purchasing the Premium Edition Upgrade will cost you about $5/£5 more than the regular Starfield Premium Edition due to buying them separately.

However, you will get instant access to Starfield before its official release date on September 6, 2023, and a Shattered Space Story Expansion. If you’re looking to save money, then the cheapest option by far is subscribing to Game Pass and then purchasing the Premium Edition Upgrade.

Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade

The only drawback of this is that you technically do not own the game. If you were to stop your Game Pass subscription, then you would lose access to Starfield.

Thankfully, if you ever do resubscribe to Game Pass then you will regain access to Starfield and all of your content.
