Operation Starseed is one of Starfield’s most interesting side quests that presents an interesting choice to the player – should you side with the Believers, Pragmatists, or Renegades at the Crucible?
To start the quest, you need to get to the Charybdis system, where you will receive an automated message prompting you to land on Charybdis III.
Once there, you’ll come across the Crucible – a settlement of three societies that include direct clones of some of the most prominent historical figures in Earth’s history.
Franklin Roosevelt, Queen Amanirenas, and Genghis Khan lead the three societies. As you can imagine, they do not see eye to eye. It’s up to you to decide which group to help during the quest.
Below we’re going to go over all the choices in the Operation Starseed quest in Starfield, including the best group to side with and what option to choose for the Emergency Reboot.

Operation Starseed Best Choice – Should You Side With the Believers, Pragmatists, or Renegades?
If you want to the most people alive, we recommend choosing to side with the Believers in Operation Starseed.
From a gameplay perspective, who you side with doesn’t really matter. Choosing which society to give the Facility information to mainly affects which characters may survive in the upcoming dispute.
However, this is mainly a question of which society you agree with the most – it doesn’t have any impact on gameplay or rewards.

After you have received the Security override codes, the leader you gave information to will call you informing you of an emergency at the Crucible. A war is about to break out when you arrive.
The three possible outcomes depend on whom you gave the Facility information earlier:
- Believers – Queen Amanirenas
Siding with Queen Amanirenas and the Believers allows you to convince Franklin Roosevelt not to fight. Genghis Khan will not be convinced and you will have to kill him.

- Pragmatists – Franklin Roosevelt
Choosing to side with Franklin Roosevelt and the Pragmatists will see Roosevelt suggest that the societies work together for 20 years before anyone gets to leave the Crucible.
Genghis Khan does not accept, starting a war. You can convince Queen Amanirenas not to get involved to save her, but if she does you have to kill both her and Genghis Khan.

- Renegades – Genghis Khan
If you choose the Renegades, you can keep Roosevelt alive by convincing Genghis Khan to not destroy the Crucible.
However, Queen Amanirenas will not stand down, meaning you’ll have to kill her if you choose this path.

Deal With the Facility Operation Starseed – Which Option Should You Choose For the Emergency Reboot?
If you want the best rewards for Operation Starseed, we recommend you choose the “Reboot and choose a new Super-Admin” option when initiating the “Emergency Reboot” at the Facility Datacore.
This is because it gives 6,000 credits and the option to recruit Amelia Earhart as a companion in Starfield.
After you resolve the trouble in the Crucible, you’ll use the Security Override to initiate an “Emergency Reboot”, leading you to Operation Starseed’s most significant choice.

Here are the three “Emergency Reboot” options and all the possible rewards for each:
- “Reboot and restore current Mission parameters”
- Everything will stay the same and you get 3,000 credits. You also have the option to recruit Amelia Earhart.
- “Reboot and choose a new Super-Admin”
- The leader you chose is put in charge and you get 6,000 credits. You also have the option to recruit Amelia Earhart.
- “Initiate Full Project Cleanse”
- All clones are killed and you get 2,000 credits. You cannot recruit Amelia Earhart.

That wraps up one of the most interesting side quests in Starfield! It’s a great example of one of the smaller and more memorable narratives you can stumble across while exploring Starfield’s vast open galaxy.
