Starfield has many factions that players can join and progress through different quest lines, but can you join all of them?

Whether it is the Crimson Fleet or Ryujin Industries, each faction offers a different experience and reward set. Of course, players will naturally want to get their hands on all the items they can.

Let’s dive in and discuss the parameters surrounding joining a faction and if you can be part of them simultaneously!

Can You Join Every Faction in Starfield?

Yes, you can join every available faction at the same time in Starfield. This means you have access to every reward set and questline available.

There are five factions you can become a part of, and there are no restrictions to joining them. These factions include:

  • Constellation
  • The United Colonies
  • Freestar Collective
  • Ryujin Industries
  • Crimson Fleet
Tuala and Sarah - Two of the NPCs who ask you to join a faction in Starfield

Additionally, there are several other groups within the game, but they are not joinable. These groups include:

  • House of the Enlightened
  • Sanctum Universum
  • House of Va’ruun
  • The Trade Authority
  • Ecliptic Mercenaries
  • Spacers

How to Join Every Faction in Starfield

Here is how you can join each of the five main factions within Starfield:

Constellation

Players will naturally join Constellation by playing through the game’s main quest line. Gamers have no choice but to join this faction.

The United Colonies

Players can join The United Colonies faction by signing up for the UC Vanguard at the MAST headquarters in New Atlantis.

Here, you will speak with Commander John Tuala, where you must complete a pilot’s exam to join.

The Freestar Collective

Players can join The Freestar Collective by completing the side quest “Deputized.” Players will encounter this mission while completing the main story quest, “Job Gone Wrong.”

However, you can start The Freestar Collective story by traveling to Akila City on the planet Akila in the Cheyenne System at any time.

Here, you will be met with Marshal Daniel Blake, where you must stop a bank robbery. After being impressed by your work, Marshal Blake asks you to talk to Ranger Emma Wilcox to speak about what it takes to join the ranks.

Ryujin Industries

Despite being part of The Freestar Collective, Ryujin Industries does have a separate quest line. Players can join by interacting with one of the job kiosks on New Atlantis or heading straight to Neon in Volii Alpha.

Check out our full guide to Ryujin Industries, complete with every mission and the rewards you can earn.

Crimson Fleet

There are two ways to join the Crimson Fleet; however, each method will involve being an undercover operative attempting to take them down:

  • Get the mission “Deep Cover” after joining The United Colonies.
  • Commit crimes until you are arrested and asked to go undercover by Commander Ikande.

Without spoiling any of the missions, at one point during this questline, you will have to make a choice that could affect your position in the Crimson Fleet, revoking your membership.
