Does Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Run on Steam Deck?

Can the latest Star Wars release be played on the go?

Despite being published by EA, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will also release on Steam – but does it have Steam Deck support?

Valve’s portable handheld PC has been a huge success for both the company itself and gamers who love to take their library on the go.

But not all games receive Steam Deck support, as Jedi: Survivor owners will soon find out.

Does Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Have Steam Deck Support?

No, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor does not have Steam Deck support, at least at launch.

The game may still run on Steam Deck, but EA states that the game currently has no dedicated support to work on the handheld device.

Even without dedicated support, players should still be able to download and play Jedi: Survivor on the Steam Deck, though its performance may be less than ideal.

With Jedi: Survivor not coming to Nintendo Switch, this could be the only chance for gamers to take the new release with them on to go.

However, as Survivor clocks in at a whopping 155 GB, those with the 64 GB Steam Deck will need to ensure they have a sizable memory upgrade just to install the game.

Is the Steam Deck Powerful Enough to Run Jedi Survivor?

Despite not having dedicated support for Jedi: Survivor, the Steam Deck may still be powerful enough to run the game on low settings.

The device has lower specs than Jedi: Survivor’s minimum specifications technically, but optimization is much better on Steam Deck than on traditional GPUs.

Performance-wise, the Steam Deck is believed to offer a similar performance to the PlayStation 4 Pro.

That said, with Survivor not coming to last-gen consoles at all, we’ll have to wait and see how Steam Deck handles the game at launch.

However, as the Steam Deck only has to display an 800p image, as opposed to a 1080 or 1440p TV display, the portable gaming device doesn’t need quite as much power as Sony’s system.

It’s possible that EA will provide Steam Deck support for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor later in the game’s lifespan. The previous title, Jedi: Fallen Order, became playable on Steam Deck in 2022.
