Is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Coming to PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch?

Will Cal Kestis' new adventure come to older systems?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the long-awaited follow-up to Fallen Order and the next chapter in the adventures of Cal Kestis.

But after almost a 4-year wait, will we need newer hardware to enjoy the latest Star Wars game?

Is Jedi Survivor on PS4 & Xbox One?

No, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will not release on PS4 or Xbox One. The game will only release on current-gen consoles the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC.

Here’s when Jedi: Survivor will release on all available platforms!

This snubbing of the older devices is due to Jedi: Survivor’s major enhancements over its predecessor.

According to Game Director Stig Asmussen, the development team needed more powerful hardware “to create much larger maps, with more detail, greater density, broader enemy/NPC variety, and overall fidelity.”

In a feature in PLAY Magazine, the Director went on to state that the team intended to “evolve/enhance the experience” of the first game with the higher specs of current-gen consoles.

PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners will enjoy what Asmussen describes as a “true new-gen experience in the Star Wars universe” that benefits from the devices’ faster processors, increases in memory, and near-instant loading times.

Is Jedi Survivor on Nintendo Switch?

No, Jedi Survivor is not available on Nintendo Switch, nor has it been announced to be coming to the platform.

Seeing as the game isn’t available on PS4 and Xbox One due to hardware limitations, it stands to reason that it will be unavailable on Nintendo’s console for the foreseeable future.

Jedi Survivor on Nintendo Switch

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order also did not come to Switch systems, making it unlikely that the sequel will arrive there anytime soon.

Perhaps when the Nintendo Switch’s successor is announced, the system will have the power to run the highly-anticipated Star Wars title.
