The Beginning – Bracca

The story of Fallen Order begins with Cal Kestis, a padawan in hiding, working as a scrapper on the planet Bracca with his friend Prauf. One day Prauf falls off a platform, and to save him, Cal uses the force, something he swore he’d never do.

This brings the Inquisitorius, a group of dark force-users who hunt down the remaining Jedi after Order 66, to Bracca. After witnessing them kill Prauf, Cal is forced to go on the run and is rescued by Cere and Greez.

Meeting Cere & Greez – Bogano

Cal, Cere, and Greez successfully fly away from Bracca in their ship, the Mantis. Cal then introduces himself to Cere, a former Jedi, and Greez, the pilot of the Mantis.

They head to Bogano, where Cere instructs Cal to find BD-1, a small robot companion who assists Cal in his journey. BD-1 takes Cal to a workshop belonging to Cere’s old master, Eno Cordova.

There, Cal learns Cordova has hidden a Holocron in a temple belonging to an extinct race of Force wielders called the Zeffo. A recording of Cordova tells him to seek out the Zeffo temples and locate the Holocron.

Hunting Down the Holocron – Zeffo & Kashyyyk

Cal’s first stop in his quest for the Holocron is Zeffo. There he encounters a group of Imperials who have set up base on the planet.

While exploring the Tomb of Eilram, Cal discovers another recording from Cordova. It directs him to the planet of Kashyyyk in search of a Wookie named Tarfful.

As they fly to Kashyyyk, Cere reveals that she severed her connection to the force after losing her padawan Trilla during Order 66.

Once in Kashyyyk, Cal meets Saw Gerrera, the rebel leader in charge of repelling the Imperials on Kashyyyk. He informs Cal that the Imperials have captured Tarfful.

Unfortunately, as Cal is searching for Tarfful, Cere tells him that the Imperials have found another Tomb on Zeffo and that they must return to investigate it.

The Return to Zeffo – Zeffo

Cal returns to Zeffo and heads for the newly unearthed Tomb of Miktrull. However, he is stopped by the Second Sister, the Inquisitor that killed his friend Prauf.

They battle, and Cal loses, only narrowly managing to escape. However, it is not before the Second Sister reveals herself as Trilla, Cere’s thought-to-be-dead padawan.

Trilla tells Cal that the Imperials tortured Cere into giving up Trilla’s location. Unfortunately, Cere submitted, and Trilla was captured and turned into an Inquisitor.

Cal then locates the Tomb of Miktrull, which contains a further recording of Cordova. This recording tells Cal to search for the Zeffo Astrium, hidden somewhere in the galaxy.

As Cal returns to the Mantis to confront Cere about Trilla’s revelations, he is captured by a bounty hunter working for the Haxion Brood.

Scuffle With the Brood – Haxion Brood Prison

During a quick interlude in Fallen Order’s story, Cal finds himself in the Haxion Brood prison with only BD-1 to help him. He manages to escape into the prison’s arena, where he is confronted by monsters.

Fortunately, just as the battle between Cal and the monsters gets hairy, Greez swoops in on the Mantis to rescue him.

Onboard the Mantis, Cal confronts Cere, who apologizes for lying and admits to cutting herself from the Force after using it to kill Imperials and escape the Inquisitor’s base.

Greez then apologizes to Cal for getting him involved with the Haxion Brood, as it turns out he owed them a substantial amount of money.

Heading Up the Origin Tree – Kashyyyk

Cere gets a transmission informing her that Tarfful is hiding in Kashyyyk and is willing to speak to Cal. When they arrive, they find that Saw Gerrera abandoned the planet, and the Imperials have taken over.

Cal locates Tarfful, who informs him that when Cordova was on Kashyyyk, he traveled to the top of the Origin Tree. Cal decides to follow in his footsteps and begins the ascent up the giant tree.

While climbing, Cal is attacked by the Ninth Sister in a starfighter but is luckily saved by the mythical Shyyyo Bird.

Unfortunately, the Shyyyo is injured, so Cal locates where it fell and uses a stim to heal it. In return, the Shyyyo takes Cal up to the top of the Origin tree, where he is confronted by the Ninth Sister in person.

Cal and the Ninth Sister duel, with Cal successfully besting her. He cuts off one of her hands and uses the force to push her off the top of the tree.

Cal then finds another recording from Cordova that instructs him the Zeffo Astrium is on the planet Dathomir.

Meeting Merrin – Dathomir

Cal heads to Dathomir, where he encounters the last surviving Nightsister, Merrin. She attempts to remove him from Dathomir, but Cal manages to survive.

Cal journeys through Dathomir in search of the Zeffo Tomb but is stopped by all manners of monsters and the servants of Merrin, the Nightbrothers.

Fortunately, he eventually reaches the Tomb but is confronted by Malicos, a former Jedi Master turned evil. He tries to convince Cal to turn to the Dark Side, but Cal refuses.

After escaping from Malicos into the Tomb, Cal has a vision of his old master Jaro Tapal. They duel, and Cal loses, which makes him break his lightsaber out of frustration.

Left defenseless and without a lightsaber, Cal retreats to the Mantis, and they fly away with no plan.

Building Cal a New Lightsaber – Ilum

After the defeat on Dathomir, Cere suggests they head to Ilum to build Cal a new lightsaber. The planet is home to Kyber Crystals, which are used to create lightsabers.

Cere gives Cal her lightsaber to create his new one and directs him toward a cave. Cal heads deep into the cave, where he almost freezes to death before being rescued by a vision of his younger self.

Unfortunately, things don’t get any better as the Kyber Crystal Cal finds breaks in two, leaving him feeling defeated.

However, BD-1 then plays the final recording from Cordova, in which he states that BD-1 must find someone trustworthy enough and bring them to the Holocron.

Feeling encouraged by the recording, Cal crafts his lightsaber from the broken Kyber Crystal and heads back to the Mantis.

Defeating Malicos – Dathomir

Cal and crew return to Dathomir with heightened spirits. Cal heads straight for the Zeffo Tomb, where he reencounters Jaro, only this time, he chooses not to fight him and finally accepts the death of his master.

After speaking with Jaro, Cal heads deeper into the Tomb, where he meets Merrin. He manages to convince her that he’s not a threat and to let go of her hatred for the Jedi.

Together, they defeat Malicos by crushing him beneath rocks. Cal then retrieves the Zeffo Astrium and, together with Merrin, heads back to the Mantis.

Trilla’s Dark Past – Bogano

After returning to Bogano, Cal heads straight for the Zeffo Tomb and uses the Zeffo Astrium to finally gain access to the Holocron.

Just before he gets it, he has a vision of leading the new Jedi Order. Unfortunately, all the padawans are murdered, and Cal is turned to the Dark Side.

Once the horrifying vision ends, Cal is confronted by Trilla, who swiftly defeats him. However, just before he loses, Cal takes her lightsaber, which triggers his ability to see memories.

He sees Trilla’s memories of being tortured and turned to the Dark Side. When he awakens from the memory, he sees Trilla has escaped with the Holocron.

Cal returns to the Mantis and is made a Jedi Knight by Cere. The crew then plots a course for the Fortress Inquisitorius, where Trilla has escaped to.

The End – Fortress Inquisitorius

Cal and Cere infiltrate the Fortress Inquisitorius, fighting through hordes of Stormtroopers to find Trilla. Eventually, Cal locates her in the torture chamber, where she was turned to the Dark Side.

They duel, and this time Cal wins, defeating Trilla and taking the Holocron from her. Cere then tries to turn Trilla back to their side, but they are interrupted by Darth Vader.

Vader kills Trilla on the spot and then begins to chase Cal. He eventually catches up to and impales him, but fortunately, Cere comes to Cal’s rescue and holds Vader off with the power of the Dark Side.

Cere and Cal then return to the Mantis with the Holocron and debate whether they should keep or destroy it. Eventually, Cal destroys it, believing that the Force will ultimately decide the fate of the Jedi Order.

Thus concludes Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s story.
