Splatoon 3 has been out for some time now and players are finally discovering the elusive Secret Kettle – here is everything we know.

If you’ve been playing Splatoon 3 recently, then there is a very good chance you’ve heard about the Secret Kettle.

However, this bonus area can be extremely difficult to find, especially if you don’t know all of the steps to get there. Fortunately, we have got you covered.

But before you try and take on the Secret Kettle, you should make sure you’re prepared with the very best Splatling.

What Is the Secret Kettle In Splatoon 3?

The Secret Kettle is an extremely challenging bonus level in Splatoon 3 that players can unlock after beating the game. It has four unique stages to beat, each one as difficult as the last.

Unlocking the Secret Kettle is almost as challenging as the level itself, as it takes a number of steps to get there. Only the hardcore Splatoon 3 fans should be attempting it.

How to Unlock the Secret Kettle

To unlock the Secret Kettle in Splatoon 3, you need complete the entirety of the single-player campaign, Return of the Mammalians:

  • First, complete the entirety of the single-player campaign. This includes completing every stage and defeating the final boss.
  • Once you have finished the campaign, you should get a message after defeating the final boss confirming the Secret Kettle has been unlocked.
    • If defeating the final boss in Return of the Mammalians does not trigger this message, double check you have completed every stage in the campaign.
  • You’ll also need to spend 333 Power Eggs to access it. However, all of this is worth it if you’re looking for a real challenge in Splatoon 3.

Splatoon 3 only requires you to beat a handful of its levels in order to complete it. However, in order to gain access to the Secret Kettle, you’ll have to beat every single level, even those that aren’t necessary.

There are 74 missions to complete in Splatoon 3, so it will take quite some time to get there. It is likely to take you around 10 or so hours to see it to the very end.

How to Beat the Secret Kettle

The Secret Kettle is broken up into four stages, and each one has to be beaten to see it to the very end.

It is fair to say that each stage gets progressively harder, so it is worth knowing what you’re getting yourself in for.

Secret Kettle Stage 1

Secret Kettle Stage 1 is a fairly typical obstacle course style area. You’ll have to make your way over rotating platforms, use your Squid Surge ability to climb up a tower, and take out enemies as you move.

What makes this one especially difficult is the enemy placements. For example, you’ll encounter Gatling gun enemies at the end of a rotating platform, who will drain your health if you’re not careful.

To get through Stage 1 – like a lot of Splatoon 3 – you’ll really have to balance movement and reaction times.

Secret Kettle Stage 2

The second Secret Kettle stage involves a lot of grinding. You’re going to be grinding along rails while attempting to shoot the balloons that pop up.

You’ll need to take out each and every balloon to pass this stage, so make sure you’ve hit them all as you go. Of course, you’ll also need to factor in jumping between rails, which will complicate things.

A good tactic for this stage is to move to new rails as and when they appear. That way you won’t get caught out while attempting to shoot the balloons.

Secret Kettle Stage 3

In the third stage of the Secret Kettle, you’ll need to navigate your way across soaker blocks. These will disappear over time if you don’t shoot them with ink, which is where the challenge in this stage lies.

Once again, you’ll be facing off relentless enemies while attempting to cross these soaker blocks. Make sure not to get too distracted by them, otherwise, you’ll fall to your death very quickly.

Secret Kettle Stage 4

The fourth and final stage is a combat-focused encounter. You will be dropped into an arena and must fend off against four waves of Octolings.

The first and second waves are fairly easy, with each one throwing a large group of Octolings at you. Make sure to use the pillars and ridges to find cover if it becomes too overwhelming.

The third wave will include a few Octolings with shields, which are significantly harder to take out. However, the fourth wave is the hardest as the Octolings throw bombs which send out deadly shockwaves

Again, the tactic remains mostly the same. However, you should really make sure you’re fully prepared for this combat encounter before you even step foot into the Secret Kettle itself.

What Are the Secret Kettle Rewards?

The rewards for beating the Secret Kettle are the Teddy Band and the final Alterna Log. The final Alterna Log is definitely a good reward for those looking to expand their knowledge of Splatoon 3’s world.

However, the Teddy Band is by far the best reward. It is a unique headgear that grants the wearer the ability Comeback – which boosts your stats when you respawn.
