One of the most exciting reveals from the February 8 Nintendo Direct was the announcement of two new Splatoon 3 DLC waves.

The first, coming in Spring 2023, is called Inkopolis and brings players back to the location from the first game. The second wave is called Side Order and is coming at a later date.

What Is Included in Splatoon 3 Wave 1 DLC Inkopolis?

In the first wave, players can travel by rail and visit Inkopolis Plaza, a location from the original Splatoon. There, they can visit Booyah Base, a mall filled with weapon shops and characters from Splatoon 1.

Everything available in Splatsville is available in Inkopolis Plaza. So fans can expect to see the same content, just accessible in a new location.

However, players can also watch the Squid Sisters perform on stage in the Inkopolis Plaza during the incredibly popular Splatfest events.

While a release date hasn’t been confirmed, the trailer says it is coming in Spring 2023. So, fans can expect it to launch in the next few months.

What Is Included in Splatoon 3 Wave 2 DLC Side Order?

The second DLC coming to Splatoon 3 is called Side Order and is story-focused. However, aside from an ominous trailer, little has been revealed about it.

Unlike the first wave of Splatoon 3 DLC, Side Order doesn’t have a release date. Nintendo is being light on details, so expect more to be announced at a future Direct.

You can check out the full announcement trailer below to get an idea of what to expect.

It’s now been five months since the release of Splatoon 3, and while the game has received a few decent updates, the content drip has been reasonably slow.

However, as Splatoon 2 fans will know, DLC can change everything. In the second Splatoon release, fans were treated to the Octo Expansion, a paid DLC that offered new story content and an entirely new playable race: Octolings.

The expansion was praised by the community for its value, offering 80 additional missions to the game to bolster the title’s single-player offering.

Now, Splatoon 3’s DLC is finally on its way, and it could prove to be even better.
