Spider-Man: Miles Morales voice actor Nadji Jeter wasn’t aware that his role in 2018’s Spider-Man would become something much bigger.
Fans were also surprised to see the character appear in the game. This is because Miles Morales eventually replaces Spider-Man in the comics. Once Peter Parker is no longer able to perform his wall-crawling duties. In one continuity anyway.
Nobody expected the role to be anything more than a cameo when the character first popped up in the trailers. For Miles Morales to become Spider-Man alongside Peter Parker; then star in his own stand-alone spin-off caught fans completely by surprise!
The actor himself was also unaware of the Miles Morales solo adventure plans until the original games launch party. In an interview with Game Informer the actor explained how he heard about it and his reaction:
"Bryan Intihar, who was our creative director, took me aside and he was like, 'Hey man, how'd you feel about you know, having your own game, and making Miles Morales his own thing?”
“I was like... 'I'm ready!' But I had to take care of some business stuff on the side, so I told him like, 'Yeah I'm ready man, let's do it, I'm going to let you know when everything is set in stone and ready to go.’”

He also then approached his colleague Yuri Lowenthal, who played Peter Parker/Spider-Man, for some tips. "Yuri had to teach me how to swing in the booth because you know, Miles wasn't swinging in the first game."
Although Jeter was no stranger to playing the character in large productions. He also provided voice-over work for Miles in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order and Disney’s Spider-Man cartoon.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales release dates are the 12th and 19th of November on PS4 and PS5. It will also be a PS5 launch title and features a special edition version that includes a remastered Spider-Man 2018.
