A hero is only as good as his soundtrack, and it's safe to say that Spider-Man: Miles Morales has a pretty epic tracklist.
The official Spider-Man: Miles Morales soundtrack is finally here, only days before the game's launch. Not only do we get a peek at the tracklist early, but the soundtrack also serves as a sneak preview of what's to come in the new Spider-Man title.
Those who are strictly trying to avoid spoilers should look no further. However, it should be noted that there's only so much you can learn from a tracklist, and no major details are present.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales' official soundtrack is 19 songs long, clocking in at just over 70 minutes of playtime. As a contrast, the original Marvel's Spider-Man has 27 tracks, spanning 1 hour and 20 minutes.
We know that this follow-up to the 2018 title isn't quite as long as the original game, so this does make sense. In the past, Insomniac confirmed that Miles Morales would be around half the length of the original title.
Assuming that claim ends up being true (and it was straight from the developer, so it should be), there's more than enough soundtrack to go around.
The Official Spider-Man: Miles Morales Soundtrack
The original playlist was composed by John Paesano, known for his past work on Marvel television series 'Daredevil' and 'The Defenders'. He is also known to compose video game soundtracks.
In the past, Paesano's works include Mass Effect: Andromeda, Detroit: Become Human, and the original Marvel's Spider-Man. This experience with both Marvel products and gaming make the composer the perfect choice for the new title.
Miles Morales' soundtrack also contains some external artists towards the end. Hip-hop's Jaden makes an appearance, and two tracks from Lecrae also join the mix.
The soundtrack for Miles Morales is epic and heroic, with a new take on the Spider-Man feel. Miles' influence as a music aficionado is well and truly felt in some of the tracks.
It appears that we're going to be jumping into the reigns of Spider-Man very quickly. After all, the second track on the official soundtrack indicates that it's for the game's first boss.
We've seen gameplay of Spider-Man: Miles Morales' first boss to accompany this epic new track. Later, we see Miles' training as Spider-Man finally gets some screentime.
Although Peter Parker will be present during the events that unfold through the game, we'd wager he's not got a major part to play. After all, this is Miles' story, and the original hero will likely be out of the picture.

And if you think the soundtrack is good, wait until you see its visuals. In new gameplay footage, we can see just how incredible Spider-Man: Miles Morales' ray tracing is in action.
What's more, the PS5 is unbelievably quiet while playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Gone are the days of the PS4's jet-engine fans, and it gives us more space to enjoy Paesano's incredible soundtrack.
