One of the most exciting things about the next-generation of console gaming is the lightning-fast loading times. Now, in new footage of the PS5 in action, we can see that the Spider-Man: Miles Morales loading time is insanely quick.
Although the PS5 embargo is still causing many early players to remain tight-lipped about their new console, leaks are relatively inevitable. And even though Sony would likely prefer that information is kept top-secret, this new footage only has us more excited to get our hands on the next-gen device.
It seems that one of the world's few PS5 owners is leaking a little footage early, and it shows off the speed of the console. For the first time, we can see just how long it takes to load Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Hilariously, the loading time is so quick that the game's logo only appears on screen for a split-second before disappearing. Perhaps this is the beginning of the end for the industry's trademark loading screen tips.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS5 Loading Time
In new footage of the PS5 in action, one lucky early player loads up Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Upon starting the game, it takes around 8 seconds for the title to reach its main menu.
What's even more impressive is that the game is ready to go at this point. Once loaded, it's easier than ever just to drop in and get swinging.
The user navigates the menus and selects their save file, choosing to resume their game. Within a couple of seconds, they are already playing as Miles, perched atop a New York rooftop.
This loading time is truly incredible, and it's unthinkable to imagine it on the PlayStation 4. Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 boasts some pretty lengthy loading times, after all.
We'd be very interested in seeing how this gameplay compares with the Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS4 port. So far, however, Insomniac Games has remained incredibly reserved on the subject.
We do have a small Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS4 vs. PS5 comparison, but we'll have to wait until launch to see more. Thankfully, it's not that long now until we can finally play the long-awaited follow-up title.
And it's not just the PS5 that boasts such incredible loading times. In fact, we've got new footage of Xbox Series X loading times too, with a comparison of the notoriously lengthy Monster Hunter World startup.
