CES 2021 is now in the history books, but we now know the release dates of major upcoming PS5 games.
As expected, this year’s CES was a digital affair due to that ruddy virus. But it hasn’t stopped Sony from showing us some breath-taking footage of triple-A upcoming PS5 games.
The PlayStation part of the show started with Sony boss Jim Ryan introducing the console, then giving some background around the PS5’s development.
Later, Sony revealed the proposed release windows for several upcoming PS5 games. Many of them are triple-A or Sony exclusive games.
Each has been seen before at other events. But now that the PS5 is out, it’s natural for our attention to turn to their release dates.
If you’re still struggling to find a PS5, a restock leaker has potentially revealed when millions of consoles will drop.
We’ve also got advice on PS5 bundles and how to tackle the problem with scalpers.
Release Dates/Windows for Major Upcoming PS5 Games
The release windows for each are:
- Pragmata: 2023 (Previously 2022 but has now delayed)
- Ghostwire Tokyo: October 2021
- Project Athia: January 2022
- Solar Ash: June 2021
- Kena: March 2021
- Stray: October 2021
- Little Devil Inside: July 2021
It’s a shame that Pragmata has been delayed to 2023, but at least other games are coming sooner to look out for.
Sadly, we also didn’t get an update on Final Fantasy 16 or Resident Evil: Village (8). However, this may be because both games will be coming to Xbox Series X.
After all, this was a Sony event, so we suppose it makes sense. But still, these titles have been seen at other Sony events. Although each was centered on the PS5, while CES is for all Sony products/services.
We’ve also not been told anything about the release date of Horizon: Forbidden West – another PS5 exclusive title. The current release window is Q3/Q4 of 2021.
Yesterday we received intel on ASUS’s plans to release high-end HDMI 2.1 monitors, which will be compatible with PS5.
