Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Hermen Hulst has revealed which game he’s most looking forward to on PS5.
There’s a lack of PS5 games right now, but things are improving. More PS4 games are receiving upgrade patches to bring them in line with PS5 standards.
But there’s also lots to look forward to on PS5 in 2021, and many of them of Sony exclusives. Nobody is more aware of this than Sony boss Hermen Hulst; who will have more access and knowledge than most when it comes to PS5 exclusives.
In a recent edition of the PlayStation Blog; Hulst revealed the PS5 game he’s most excited about is God of War Ragnarok. Here’s what he said:
“Playing God of War in 2018 was a great experience for me. That series has always had amazing action and combat. Still, the emotional depth Santa Monica brought to Kratos’ story as a father was very memorable. Especially since my son was only a little bit older than Atreus when I played it.”
He went on to say; “So to see and hear the reaction to that tiny glimpse we unveiled at the PlayStation Showcase last September was very exciting. I can’t wait for people to see what Santa Monica is making.”
Exciting for PS5 Fans Too
This news should excite many PS5 owners, especially if they were fans of God of War (2018) like Hulst was. If he is looking forward to the game, then we should be too.
As Hulst likely knows many things about God of War Ragnarok that we don’t yet. So, if this is the game he’s most looking forward to, then there is likely a good reason. This is excellent news for God of War fans.
It means that Krato’s next adventure may be even better than his last one, which if you didn’t know; was outstanding. God of War has been a Sony exclusive series since the very first game on the PS2.
But three consoles and seven games later, the series is more valuable to Sony than ever. God of War Ragnarok will be one of the most important games coming to PS5 in 2021.
And if Hulst is to be believed, we have a lot of violent delights to look forward to.
God of War Is an Essential PS5 Exclusive
The original God of War trilogy, (and it’s three prequels), dealt with Kratos becoming the new Greek God of War. It then charted his betrayal by them, which led to him slaughtering nearly all of them.
God of War 2018 (or GOW 4) took a very different approach. It saw Kratos now living in ancient Scandinavia trying to forget his violent past. While juggling the responsibilities of being a single father.
Oh and now a new ancient Pantheon of Gods is aware of his presence. They’re also not happy about a famous godslayer living in their land.
God of War 2018 is one of the games that was recently upgraded for PS5. It was given a 4K boost and brought up to 60fps when played on PS5. Here’s what we thought of the upgraded version.
