The official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account confirmed Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) is playing the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Phineas Nigellus Black. This will mark Pegg’s first foray into the Wizarding World.
Simon Pegg is famous for his role in the cult classic British TV show Spaced, as well as for his movie roles in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Star Trek, and the Mission Impossible series.
In addition, he has previously done voice acting in video games, including Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Battlefront, Star Trek, and Fable 3.
This isn’t the only recent Hogwarts Legacy announcement to wow fans. Not that long ago, the game’s enormous open world was also shown off, including some surprising new details.
Who Is Phineas Nigellus Black in Hogwarts Legacy?
Phineas Nigellus Black is the Headmaster of Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy as well as the great-great-grandfather of Sirius Black.
His role in the game is one of both help and hindrance, mostly getting in the way of the player and preventing them from completing their goals.
Of course, if you’re interested in witnessing Simon Pegg play this pesky Headmaster for yourself, then you’ll want to keep an eye out for the upcoming release date of Hogwarts Legacy.
He is described as the “least popular headmaster Hogwarts has ever known” and is generally disliked by many. His main flaws are his pompous attitude and lack of care for his students.
He has actually appeared in both the books and films as a portrait in Dumbledore’s office. During the Deathly Hallows novel, Hermoine hides his portrait to prevent him from revealing their location.
