Should You Choose Solgaleo or Lunala in Pokemon GO?

The Legendary Pokemon Cosmog has two different final evolutions – Solgaleo and Lunala – but which one should you choose in Pokemon GO?

Players can finally evolve Cosmog’s mid-stage evolution Cosmoem into one of Solgaleo or Lunala. However, that has created a dilemma.

As the A Cosmic Companion Special Research only gives players one Cosmog encounter, fans have to choose between either Solgaleo or Lunala as their final evolution.

Is Solgaleo or Lunala Better in Pokemon GO?

Neither Solgaleo nor Lunala is better in Pokemon GO. They are almost identical (Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel-type while Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost-type) and neither is particularly powerful for Raiding or the GO Battle League.

Therefore, when evolving Cosmeoem, feel free to choose whichever evolution you prefer the look of out of Solgaleo and Lunala.

Just make sure you know how to evolve Cosmoem into Solgaleo and Lunala first. The method for doing this is slightly different depending on which one you choose.

Solgaleo vs Lunala Stats Comparison in Pokemon GO

Solgaleo and Lunala have the exact same attack, defense, stamina, and maximum CP. This makes it very hard to decide between them when evolving Cosmoem in Pokemon GO.

The only difference is that Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel-type while Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost-type.

Can You Get Both Solgaleo & Lunala in Pokemon GO?

It is not possible to get both Solgaleo and Lunala in Pokemon GO at the moment. This is because players can only get one Cosmog from the A Cosmic Companion Special Research.

Until players can get a second Cosmog, they will not be able to get both Solgaleo and Lunala.

Luckily, Niantic has hinted that another way to catch Cosmog will come to Pokemon GO!
