Call of Duty fans are demanding that Treyarch add the iconic Search and Destroy mode to the Black Ops 6 Open Beta when it returns this weekend.
Early access to the Black Ops 6 Beta has now concluded, and thousands of fans appear to have really enjoyed their time with the upcoming Call of Duty title.
Treyarch’s recent Beta offered us a glimpse at what to expect from this year’s COD but, as anticipated, it was quite a limited look at what’s to come.
Now, as the Open Beta prepares to kick off, fans are hoping that one beloved mode from the series’ past makes a return.
Is Search and Destroy in the Black Ops 6 Beta?
No, there are currently no announced plans for Search and Destroy to feature in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta.
Treyarch has already released a list of all maps and modes that will be present in the Open Beta, and S&D doesn’t appear anywhere on the list.
Therefore, unless something changes, the beloved Search and Destroy game mode – which features two teams attempting to plant or disarm a bomb with respawns turned off – will only be playable when the game officially launches on October 25.
Nevertheless, fans are taking to social media to demand that the iconic mode gets added to the Black Ops 6 Beta before it ends on Monday, September 9, 2024.
The Fan Response
Over on social media site X (formerly Twitter), we’ve seen dozens of fans calling on Treyarch to add Search and Destroy when the Black Ops 6 Open Beta kicks off.
For some players, the bomb-focused objective game mode is a staple of the Call of Duty franchise, and we’re sure many fans are curious to see exactly how S&D plays out with Black Ops 6’s new Omnimovement.
What’s more, with the response to new Beta maps such as Skyline and Derelict being relatively mixed, it’s important to see how exactly these arenas play in a S&D setting.
Treyarch has confirmed that new content is arriving in the Black Ops 6 Open Beta, including new maps and game modes.
But regrettably, unless fan demand hits a fever pitch in the coming days, we don’t think Search and Destroy will make a surprise appearance.
