It’s almost time until Modern Warfare Season 2 kicks off. This has led Infinity Ward to announce what content is on the horizon, including a brand new map. The last season introduced a close-quarter map to the mix, and it seems as though the next major content drop will follow suit.

First Look at Modern Warfare Rust Map

Infinity Ward, the developers behind the release of Modern Warfare, has updated the AR card to feature the iconic Rust map. It showcases a short clip of the map, so we’ll know what to expect within the next few weeks.

The clip shown above isn’t the only footage we have of Rust. In fact, the official Call of Duty website recently unveiled a new teaser video for the highly-anticipated Season 2. Towards the beginning of the 7-second video, you’ll notice a large tower that appears to resemble the one featured in Rust. Although it’s only for a few seconds, it’s a good sign of things to come.

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise to Rust announced, with the in-game files previously references the fan-favorite map. Rust made its debut with MW2 back in 2009, but it was later remastered in Infinite Warfare due to its popularity.

Of course, it’s going to release while Season 2 is available, but there’s no word on an exact date as of yet. There’s a fair chance it will launch when Modern Warfare Season 2 releases on February 11th, but if it doesn’t, it’ll likely arrive towards the end of February.

As Season One introduced a handful of Call of Duty 4 maps, it seems as though Season 2 will bring remakes of MW2 maps. More information will be coming out in the near future, so make sure to stay tuned.
