Rockstar Games’ statement regarding the recent GTA 6 leaks has become the most liked gaming tweet of all time.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most anticipated games of all time, and fans have been waiting to see what the next GTA title has in store for them.

Fans have been hoping for glimpses of the game. Finally, they got them when the developers of the Grand Theft Auto franchise were hit with massive leaks revealing weaponry, gameplay, location, and a potential female protagonist.

As a result, the developers were forced to respond and issued a statement in relation to the GTA 6 leaks.

Rockstar’s GTA 6 Statement Becomes Most Liked Gaming Tweet of All Time

Rockstar Games’ statement on Twitter received over 1 million likes on the social media platform in just under 24 hours. The tweet has almost doubled the previous record, which Rockstar also held.

The previous record was set when Rockstar announced that GTA 6 was in development. This tweet is currently sat at 593k likes.

Not far behind in 3rd place is PlayStation’s tweet regarding postponing the PS5 event in June 2020. Their announcement sits on 504k likes.

Rockstar’s statement is still far from the all-time record. A post from late actor Chadwick Boseman’s account confirming his death has received over 7 million likes, making it Twitter’s most liked tweet of all time.

The impressions that Rockstar’s statement received, highlight just how highly anticipated the future release of GTA 6 is.

While Rockstar has stated the leaks will not impact the development of the game, they have affected their holding company Take-Two interactive. Take-Two has had $510m wiped off of their market cap since the leaks.
