PS5 & Xbox Series X/S Restocks Getting Huge Changes at Target – May 2021

Target is one of the best retailers to find a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S restock, and now the store is changing how the process works.

In the past, we’ve seen Target as one of the best possible places to search for your PS5 or Xbox Series X/S restocks. The retailer has been consistently good at next-gen drops, and we can often find insider information about when the restocks are coming.

But now, Target is making some big changes to their PS5 and Xbox Series X/S policies. And those still on the hunt need to be aware about how the process is about to differ.

If you’re still looking for a next gen console, here are all the drops coming this week!

Target Is Changing PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Restocks – May 18

From today, May 18, onwards, Target is making big changes to its PS5 and Xbox Series X/S restocks. Here’s how things are differing.

According to a new email to Target employees, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S drops are about to have a very different style. First of all, Xbox Series X/S consoles will no longer be released in huge online-only events.

Instead, each Target store appears to be getting individual stock of the Xbox consoles for users to purchase as it comes in. As usual, these devices are only available for Order Pick Up/Drive Up buyers and will not be sold in-store.

But there is one retailer selling Xbox and PS5 consoles in-store right now!

What this means is that the Xbox Series X/S shortage is finally ending, and Target will be able to sell consoles as soon as they come in stock. If you’re on the hunt for an Xbox, Target is now your best bet!

Meanwhile, PS5 consoles will still be sold through limited-time online-only events. However, we won’t be kept guessing about when those devices are going live.

Instead, Target promises that “PlayStation orders will automatically drop on select dates.” It looks as though Target will move to a regular PS5 restock schedule, which is sure to be very helpful for those still searching.
