PS5 Version 20.02-02.30.00 update, the third PS5 system update has arrived. What does this one bring, and will it fix some of the PS5’s issues?
Sony’s rather impressive PS5 console has been with us for a few weeks now; we love it, and so does the rest of the world. But there are still a few problems hanging over since launch.
For example, rest mode is still causing chaos, and there have also been instances where PS5 consoles have been bricked for bizarre reasons. Let’s hope the most recent update can put some of these problems to bed for good.
However, we held this same hope for the previous update. But we understand that Sony is doing everything they can to resolve these frustrating issues – and we appreciate it.
What Does the PS5 Version 20.02-02.30.00 Update Bring with It?
According to the patch notes, Update Version 20.02-02.30.00 provides:
- Improved system performance and stability.
- Resolved an issue where data transfers and downloads were canceled while a data transfer from a PS4 is in progress – users will no longer need to do one at a time.
- Some issues that were causing errors during text input in some PS4 games are now resolved.
- The connection stability has been improved for some Wi-Fi routers.
The patch will also offer some improvements for the DualSense controller. Although Sony hasn’t included these in the patch notes.
This may be an oversight, or Sony may not want to draw attention to a particular issue. Especially if it’s connected to the controversial problems with the PS5s rest mode feature.
One that stopped users from turning on the PS5 through the controller and caused system crashes. Here’s to the PS5 Version 20.02-02.30.00 update – let’s hope it’s the one we’ve been waiting for.
