PS5 Restock: GameStop, PlayStation Direct, Walmart, Target & More Expected to Drop This Week – January 17-23

After 2 huge weeks of PS5 restock waves, we’re eager to see what drops come next between January 17-23.

There’s no denying it, 2022 is the year where everyone that wants a PS5 will get one. Already, we’re seeing an increase in stock and a decrease in demand across the board for PlayStation units.

Because of that, we’ve actually seen PS5 prices dropping as scalpers struggle to sell their stock. But you won’t even need to buy from a reseller, going by how common restocks are becoming.

We anticipate that the new reveal of the PS VR2 will be pushing a lot of gamers towards buying a PS5 very soon though. And when the virtual reality headset officially launches, you can bet it’ll be a hot-ticket item too.

Without further ado, here is everything we know about the PS5 restock wave from January 17-23.

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop In-Store Restock PS5 Bundle & Price Revealed - January 14

GameStop PS5 Restock Date: January 19 (Rumored)

Since even before the beginning of 2022, GameStop has been one of our biggest next-gen restockers. In fact, the retailer has been dropping stock not only online but also through in-store restocks for 5 consecutive weeks!

Usually, the store offers either Xbox or PS5 consoles when it has in-store drops to sell. Last week was PS5, so we’ll have to see if this week moves back to Xbox or not.

UPDATE: GameStop Accidentally Announces PS5 Restock Early – January 19

Be sure to check back as we usually get word of in-store drops around mid-week. We’ll update this article as more news drops.

PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock

PS5 Restock PlayStation Direct

PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock Date: January 19-21 (Rumored)

It seems that PlayStation Direct is currently saving up its stock after a huge amount of drops at the end of last year. Before Christmas, gamers were given the chance to sign up for a PS5 restock online, as Sony attempted to get consoles in every household.

But after 2 restocks in one week at the start of January, PlayStation Direct was absent last week. Because of that, we’d say there’s a good chance Sony will drop again between January 19-21.

Recently we discovered that players might want to re-register for a PlayStation Direct PS5 drop – even if you’ve done it before!

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

Last week we were able to accurately predict a Walmart PS5 restock after 3 weeks of silence from the retailer. However, much to our disappointment, the Walmart PS5 restock was for Walmart+ members only.

There’s a silver lining though – Walmart usually offers regular customers a restock after dropping for members-only. And because of this, we anticipate that Walmart will have more PS5 stock to sell this week!

We saw Walmart canceling quite a few PS5 orders in 2021. Hopefully, the retailer has its act together as we head further into the New Year!

Target PS5 Restock

Target PS5 Restock

Target PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

Lately, we’ve been hearing rumblings that Target could have another PS5 restock coming this week. After hundreds of PS5 consoles dropped at Target in early January, we can’t imagine that the retailer will have enough supply for a massive restock just yet.

If we hear anything more concrete regarding Target’s stock levels, we’ll update this article accordingly.

And while reports indicate that Target has sold the odd PS5 in-store, we wouldn’t go searching for the console in your local retailer. That said, Target always sells Xbox Series X in-store for those who fancy a change.

Antonline PS5 Restock

PS5 at AntOnline

Antonline PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

In recent weeks, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Antonline has more stock than ever to sell in 2022. The online retailer is selling next-gen consoles every week but sadly only in bundles.

If you’re buying from Antonline, expect to pay a little more for your PS5 as it comes bundled with other items. However, Antonline is known for its speedy shipping times and it’s always easy to buy from.

Put notifications on for Antonline’s Twitter and you’ll never miss a drop.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

There was no Best Buy PS5 restock last week, with the major retailer opting to drop its Xbox stock instead. We expect another Xbox drop is coming in the near future, but Sony’s console could also be appearing.

Recently, Best Buy’s restocks have given us faith that the PS5 console shortage is coming to an end.

But if the site does go live again, be ready for Best Buy to lock stock behind a $200 membership, like it just did with Xbox.

Amazon PS5 Restock

PS5 at Amazon

Amazon PS5 Restock Date: Unlikely This Week

We don’t want to say that Amazon absolutely will not drop PS5 stock this week. After all, the online retailer is notoriously hard to predict, and basically just does whatever it wants to do.

However, Amazon’s most recent restocks have all come towards the end of the month. And as such, we expect it’s far more likely for the store to drop PS5 consoles next week or the week after that.

Unfortunately, Amazon’s most recent PS5 restock was ruined by scalpers, despite it being one of the largest drops in recent history.

That’s all we know about the PS5 restock wave from January 17-23 right now! However, we’ll be updating this article as new information arrives, so check back regularly.

Meanwhile, something suspicious is clearly happening as PS3 games begin to appear on the PS5 store! Could this be the start of the rumored counterpunch to Xbox Game Pass?

And Sony just had its biggest-ever launch on PC with God of War! We’re hoping this means PlayStation Studios will bring many more of its IPs to the platform.
