PS5 Restock: GameStop, PlayStation Direct, Antonline, Walmart & More Expected to Drop This Week – December 13-19

If you’re hunting for a PS5 restock before Christmas, we’ve got eyes on a number of drops between December 13-19.

It’s the holiday season and gamers are still on the hunt for next-gen consoles. If anything, demand is currently so high that it’s making the last year of console hunting seem relatively relaxed.

With only a limited number of restocks between now and Christmas, you’ll need to be on the ball this week. Thankfully, we know about a number of potential PS5 restock events taking place between December 13-19.

See all of last week’s restocks here.

And finally, don’t forget to check our guide on how to get a PS5 before Christmas 2021!

All PS5 Restocks – December 13-19

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop PS5 Restock Date: December 17 (and possibly earlier in the week too!)

This retailer is definitely the one to watch when it comes to a PS5 restock this week. Not only do we have new PS5 bundles appearing on the GameStop site – a sure sign of a drop to come, but there’s allegedly another in-store restock on the way.

According to restock tracker Matt Swider, a number of GameStop stores will have a PS5 restock in person on December 17. In the past, we’ve seen tremendous queues outside GameStop for PS5 restocks, and this week will be no different!

Be sure to get there early if you want to take advantage of the final in-store restock before Christmas.

PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock

PlayStation Direct

PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock Date: December 13

Recently, PlayStation Direct has been offering fans almost weekly opportunities to purchase a PS5 console. In the lead-up to Christmas, it appears that Sony is making next-gen sales its biggest priority.

The good news is: Sony is allowing fans to sign up for a PS5 drop before Christmas!

And while doing so won’t guarantee you a PS5 this year, it’s still worth a go. After all, scalpers can’t steal consoles offered directly to the fans at least.

Antonline PS5 Restock

PS5 at AntOnline

Antonline PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

As a smaller retailer, a lot of fans might not know about Antonline, but the company sells regular PS5 restocks that are worth your time. The online-only retailer is also known for fast shipping times, making it a great option when it comes to getting a PS5 before Christmas.

The downside is that Antonline only sells consoles in pricey bundles, so you’ll pay a little more than anticipated for the device. And while you can sell on the extras later, you’ll need to front a greater cash investment to secure your PS5.

Put notifications on for the Antonline Twitter account and you’ll never miss a drop. However, supply is limited, so be sure to get there first.

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart PS5 Restock Date: December 13

Last week, fans got all excited over the prospect of Walmart’s Gamer Drop event advertising PS5 sales in-store. However, Walmart later confirmed that it wasn’t going to sell the console in-store after all.

The retailer did go live with PS5 online sales on December 8 but that won’t be its last of the year. Walmart is known for regular restocks, whether it has consoles to sell or not.

UPDATE: Walmart is canceling PS5 orders after its December 13 restock

And we expect that the company won’t want to miss out on one or two final restocks before the Christmas holidays arrive. However, anticipate a long wait for your PS5 from Walmart if you do secure the device.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Amazon PS5 Restock

Amazon PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

Although Amazon is highly unpredictable when it comes to next-gen restocks, it has been following a pattern lately. The online store appears to be dropping stock near the end of every month.

We anticipate that December will work a little differently though, with the company not wanting to miss out on those holiday sales.

UPDATE: Amazon PS5 restock CONFIRMED for December 2021

We’ve also seen reports that indicate that Amazon is making an effort to block scalpers on its site too. Could this therefore mean that our next drop is a big one?

Target PS5 Restock

Target PS5 Restock

Target PS5 Restock Date: December 16

Recently, Target has its biggest PS5 restock of the year and it was a huge success. It’s possible that the store will have some leftover stock to go live soon, but we’ve not seen it appear yet.

In fact, a lot of Target PS5 orders got canceled, much to the disappointment of the buyers. But this doesn’t always mean the company has oversold its stock – sometimes retailers want to ensure they have sufficient stock levels for another restock later on.

UPDATE: Target has now gone live with PS5 consoles on December 16

We imagine Target will have more stock soon, though whether or not it’s this week remains to be seen.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

As expected, last week we got a Best Buy PS5 restock on December 6. But what was surprising about the drop is that you didn’t need a TotalTech membership to snag the PS5.

Because of that, we predict that if Best Buy does restock the next-gen console this week, you will need a membership. Unfortunately, the Best Buy TotalTech membership is extortionate, even if it does get you access to exclusive restocks.

That’s all we know about the PS5 restock wave from December 13-19 for now. However, check back regularly as we update this article with the latest news as it breaks.

To be fair, a long wait for a PS5 purchased from Walmart isn't always due to Walmart (at least not directly). I had purchased one from Walmart on their 11/22 release and am unfortunately still waiting to take delivery. Walmart had it in the couriers possession on 11/23 which is fair. Unfortunately it has taken the courier 9 days to move the console 250 miles to the local distribution center and there it has sat for 11 days (and counting). Walmart chose to send it vie LaserShip, which I had later found out has a notorious reputation for their delivery services (many examples, reviews and even a video montage online). LaserShip has been completely unresponsive with not even a veil of customer service. Call their number and you get an automated message stating that their customer service reps have no details about your package and can't do anything about it. Submit a message to LaserShip online and you get a similar automated email response stating that they will contact you within 72 hours (they will not). LaserShip's online tracking is abysmal and they don't keep it updated appropriately anyway (even though this is where all of their automated messages tell you to look). I have reached out to Walmart support everyday for the past 3 days and the response has been to give them 24 more hours and see what happens. Walmart has offered me a $20 code to use on a future purchase but the likelyhood of me actually shopping at Walmart is pretty slim. More upsetting, reading online reviews on the Walmart website you can see that those who purchased a console during the 11/29 release (1 week after my purchase) had received their console in 4 days. Walmart's failure here is two-fold. First, they tried to save a buck by using a very cheap and unreliable courier service (even though they must be raking in thousands because everyone attempting to purchase a console from them is likely paying the $12+ monthly premium membership). Second, they didn't offer a delivery option at checkout. I wouldn't likely pay more to have 2 day or overnight delivery, BUT I absolutely would have chosen an in-store pickup options so that they simply could move the units from their own distribution center to one of my local retail locations (there are 3 within 20 minutes of my home) and I could pick it up there with proof-of-purchase. Seems like a no-brainer but then, purchasing a PS5 from Walmart has been one blunder after another.

There is a PS5 drop today from Sony! Go to their website and register to buy. Also I got mine through a stock tracking app called Trackalacker. You follow products and then they send email alerts when stock becomes available.
