PS5 Restock: Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Target & More Expected to Drop This Week – September 20-26

Get ready for a big week of drops as we take a look at the PS5 restock wave coming between September 20-26.

As we edge ever closer to the anniversary of the PS5 release date, the next-gen console is still in incredibly short supply. We do get new PS5 drops with each passing week, of course, but each one is extremely limited and sells out fast.

It’s been a big week for PlayStation news, however! Sony has now officially unveiled its Pulse 3D Wireless Headset in Midnight Black, for all those yet to experience 3D audio.

On top of that, new rumors of a Horizon Zero Dawn PSVR 2 game are surfacing once again!

And with the newest PS4 update bricking last-gen consoles, perhaps more gamers than ever will be on the PS5 hunt this week.

Thankfully, we have more than a few PS5 restocks coming between September 20-26.

Find all of last week’s PS5 restocks here!

Make sure to check our PS5 Stock Trackers for lightning-fast updates when new consoles go live:

Best Buy PS5 Restock

PS5 Restock Best Buy

Best Buy PS5 Restock Date: September 23 (In-Store)

Recently, a leaked email revealed a massive PS5 and Xbox Series X restock at Best Buy coming this week. It seems that the major retailer has been quiet for a reason, and this could be one of the biggest drops we’ve ever seen for next-gen consoles.

Right now, rumors suggest that Best Buy will be adopting Target’s sales method, where gamers can place an order online for curbside pick up. On top of that, LordOfRestocks reports that Best Buy appears to be attempting a new anti-scalper queue system that will prevent users from buying a PS5 if they’ve done so before.

The September 23 date specified in the email isn’t set in stone, but we’d definitely recommend keeping an eye on the stock tracker this Thursday.

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

Last week, we got yet another GameStop PS5 restock. For whatever reason, it seems as though the major retailer has new drops ready to go with almost every passing week.

Of course, when GameStop does go live, it will only drop stock for PowerUp Rewards Pro members these days.

Signing up for the membership will give you early notice about upcoming drops, as well as the chance to buy a PS5 for yourself.

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart PS5 Restock Date: September 23

If you’re wondering why Walmart always seems to be dropping new next-gen stock, the answer is simple. Walmart appears to sell PS5 consoles that it doesn’t actually have.

This week, Walmart trialed a new, surprise stock drop in the middle of the night, which certainly caught buyers off-guard. But when you’re buying from the major retailer, you can often expect a significant wait before getting hold of your new purchase.

It seems that some Walmart stores have PS5 stock for walk-ins too, but this is certainly dependent on area. But it’s always worth checking in on your local store to avoid dealing with Walmart’s awful Press & Hold button system.

Target PS5 Restock

Target PS5

Target PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

It’s been a couple of weeks since our last Target restock, and we expect the retailer to go live once more before the end of September. However, we’re not certain yet whether or not Target will have saved up enough stock for a drop this coming week.

Thankfully, it appears that Target restock drops are back and here to stay. In the past, this was always one of our go-to retailers for PS5 restocks, and we’re eagerly awaiting the next time they go live.

PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock

PlayStation Direct

PlayStation Direct PS5 Restock Date: September 21, 22, and 23

Lately, PlayStation Direct has been fairly reliable when it comes to PS5 drops. 2 weeks ago, the online store was one of the only places to have the console in stock, and it went live with another massive drop last week too.

In fact, Matt Swider reports that around 5x the number of invites went out for the September 16 drop when compared to usual Direct restocks.

Now that a new PS5 redesign is appearing in stores, we wonder if stock levels are on the rise.

Antonline PS5 Restock

PS5 at AntOnline

Antonline PS5 Restock Date: This Week (Rumored)

As an online-only retailer, Antonline is one of the most consistent next-gen console restockers out there. In the last two weeks we’ve seen PS5 Disc and Digital drops appear on the site.

We’re not so certain that Antonline will have more to offer this week, but we recommend turning notifications on for the site’s official Twitter account.

Bear in mind that Antonline does always drop PS5 consoles as part of a bundle – so you’ll be paying more for the next-gen unit. That said, Antonline’s bundles do help stop scalpers from snatching up the stock first.

Amazon PS5 Restock

PS5 at Amazon

Amazon PS5 Restock Date: September 21

With Amazon being a rather unpredictable retailer, it’s impossible to say for sure that PS5 stock won’t arrive this week. However, the online store recently went live with 2 consecutive weeks of restocks, which is relatively unheard of.

Update: Amazon Restocks PS5 for Prime Members – September 21

That’s everything we know about the PS5 restock wave from September 20-26 right now. We’ll add in any further information as we learn about it in the coming week.

In other news, we just got a major Saints Row gameplay leak and it looks FAR better than its Gamescom trailer.

And PS5 owners can finally upgrade their SSD storage, so consider picking up some extra storage space with your console!

As we arrive in the second half of September, how far do you agree with Sony’s claims that PS5 stock issues are coming to an end?
