Even though the PlayStation 5 is hard to come by, could a PS5 Pro be coming? That’s what new rumors currently suggest.
Many PlayStation fans are still eager to upgrade from their PlayStation 4 to the current gen. The PlayStation 5 is still difficult to find.
While the PlayStation 4 is still seeing system updates as of this week, at some point, Sony will likely make the shift to the current-gen exclusively.
And new rumors seem to suggest that Sony could be making the next step for PlayStation 5.
PlayStation 5 Pro Could Be Coming Late 2023
In spite of ongoing production struggles, Sony could be releasing a new PlayStation 5 model: the PlayStation 5 Pro.
YouTuber RedGamingTech reports that the PlayStation 5 Pro is currently in production, with a late 2023 release date. At the latest, early 2024.
It seems strange considering many players are still hoping for a standard PS5, however, the PS4 Pro released around three years after the PS4.
That would mean it isn’t out of the realms of possibility. What’s more shocking, is the reported performance boost.
RedGamingTech reports that the PS5 Pro will see a doubling in performance from the standard PS5. Ray-Tracing will see a reported 2.5x boost in performance.
It’s also rumored that the PlayStation 5 Pro will have a focus on the PSVR 2, which should intrigue fans of Virtual Reality gadgets.
It’s necessary to remind you that these are currently rumors, and as such, may be false. Although, we’d love to see what a PS5 Pro is capable of!
Hopefully, we see more standard PlayStation 5’s in stock before the Pro releases. And, hopefully, the PS5 Pro will offer more storage as standard.
If you’re still looking for a PlayStation 5, you may be in luck. Another PlayStation direct re-stock is confirmed for today!
