PS5 Launch Lineup Is “by Far the Strongest We’ve Ever Had” Claims Sony Boss

The PlayStation 5 is just around the corner, and it's bringing with it quite the haul of next-gen experiences.

According to Sony Boss Jim Ryan, the upcoming PS5 will come hand-in-hand with the strongest lineup of games that the PlayStation has ever seen. Players won't be hurting for new games for quite some time, thanks to the Sony team.

Speaking with GamesIndustry, SIE President and CEO Jim Ryan announced that the PS5 lineup of exclusives at launch will be "by far the strongest" Sony has ever seen.

"Again, here Worldwide Studios is excelling," Ryan commented. "And the line-up of exclusive games -- either at launch or in the launch window -- is by far the strongest that we've ever had on any new console."

The Sony Boss goes on to say that real progress has been made on these games in the last few months. It's important for Sony that the PlayStation 5 is able to be "well accompanied by a demonstration of great next-generation gameplay."

What is the PS5's Exclusive Launch Lineup?

It's true that the PS5 exclusives coming at the console's launch are looking pretty appealing. There's Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a popular follow-up to the best-selling superhero title.

Alongside that, players can also get their hands on the Demon's Souls remake. And Sackboy: A Big Adventure is the first time in 6 years that the popular Little Big Planet franchise is making a return.

Demolition derby game Destruction AllStars is dropping at launch too, bringing a much-needed party game to the lineup. And finally, we have Astro's Playroom, a title that comes pre-installed on every PlayStation 5 console.

What Else is Coming to PS5 at Launch?

The PlayStation 5 also hosts a number of other titles on launch day, ensuring that there's more than enough to play. Action RPG Godfall will drop alongside its PC port, bringing some "looter-slasher" action to the PS5.

Popular battle royale Fortnite will also be making an appearance, available to download for free at launch. Finally, we've got Devil May Cry 5 returning for a Special Edition.

The critically acclaimed action title is coming to both PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch. It also brings new, updated visuals, and a new playable character: Vergil.

What's more, games like Dirt 5, Watch Dogs Legion, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and more, are all confirmed for PS5. These games, are launching around or prior to the console's release day but will come with upgraded versions fo the new hardware.

There is already quite a lengthy list of confirmed and rumored PlayStation 5 titles. In the recent PS5 showcase, Sony revealed a plethora of reasons to be excited for the next-gen console.

We've got Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach, Final Fantasy 16, Resident Evil Village, and a lot more gaming to look forward to in the PS5's future. Already, gamers are going crazy for the newly-announced Harry Potter title.

In fact, Hogwarts Legacy is the PS5's fastest viewed trailer yet. But even before we get our hands on that, though, we've got a ton more experiences to enjoy.
