PS5 Games And Accessories Set To Launch A Week Early

According to a Tweet from UK gaming retailer Simply Games, various PS5 games and accessories will launch a week early in the UK.

The PS5 is set to launch in North America and other regions on the 12th November 2020. But the UK is among the list of countries that will get their hands on the console a week later, on the 19th November.

It now seems apparent that Sony will release all of the PS5’s associated peripherals a week early on the 12th November in the UK. This will include the following:

  • Official PS5 HD Camera
  • Official PS5 Media Remote
  • Sony 3D Wireless Pulse Headset
  • PS5 DualSense Controller

It was initially reported that the PS5 controller, also known as the DualSense, would not be realising early. Instead releasing alongside the console on the 19th November.

But a more recent Tweet from Simply Games confirms it will indeed be releasing early. Although there has been no word on the official DualSense charging station as of yet.

However, we expect this will release when the DualSense does. As both items are related.

PS5 Accessories List

The DualSense being released is the stand-alone version. As in, those who want to purchase a second controller separately will be able to do so a week early.

The PS5 will come bundled with one DualSense when it launches, but Sony is also selling them separately.

Why Are Some PS5 Games And Accessories Launching Early In The UK?

Quite why these PS5 games and accessories are apparently launching a week earlier than the console is a mystery. It may be the case that the console itself is subject to a specific roll-out schedule, but it’s accessories are not.

It may even turn out to not be true, Sony could still weigh in and reveal this is a mistake. Or they could intervene to prevent any PS5 games and accessories launching early.

But with every passing day, we edge closer to the official release date and this becomes increasingly unlikely.

Here's the Tweet by Simply Games:

It’s worth noting that Amazon UK is still showing that the 19th of November could still be the official release date for the PS5’s accessories. Lending weight to the argument that this is an error on Sony’s and by extension; Simply Games part.

We reported in an earlier article that some PS5 games would be launching early. This was number of weeks ago and neither Sony nor the developers have reached out to shoot this rumour down.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are included in the titles that are allegedly releasing early in the UK.

The rumour mill has been quietening down recently, as Sony finally begin to break their silence regarding the PS5 and clarify certain things.

For example, in the past few days, Sony have confirmed how PS5 backwards compatibility will work. They also ended the rumour about PS4 saves not working on the PS5 – it’s now been confirmed that they will.

Now wouldn’t it be nice if the PS5 console launched a week early too? Then we could finally decide if we want to our new PS5 to sit vertically or horizontally beneath our TV sets.
