This coming month’s freebies may have leaked early, as the PS Plus games for May 2021 surface online.
It’s only days before the announcement of May’s free PS Plus titles, and gamers are getting curious. Over the last few months, we’ve seen major titles like Destruction AllStars, Maneater, Final Fantasy 7, and more given away for free, alongside a handful of other games.
To claim your free games, all you have to do is add them to your library during their active month. In case you’re yet to claim them, this is your last chance to grab Oddworld Soulstorm, Days Gone, and Zombie Army 4 in April’s lineup.
You can even claim the free PS5 games without a next-gen console, using this method!
Now, ahead of an official announcement, a new leak promises more amazing titles coming to PS Plus in May 2021.
May 2021 Free PS Plus Games
According to a reliable leaker, we now know what May 2021’s PS Plus games might be.
Trusted insider Shpeshal_Ed on Twitter has been correct about PlayStation Plus free games in the past, and he’s for a new prediction. The leaker has an inside source who is revealing that Battlefield 5 and Stranded Deep will be May 2021’s PS Plus releases for PS4.
This would make sense, given that EA is already revealing 2021’s BATTLEFIELD ahead of its official trailer. Meanwhile, Stranded Deep is an open-world survival crafting experience with split-screen capabilities, making it a great option for co-op fans.
But what about the free PS5 game in May 2021? This one isn’t as set in stone just yet, it seems.
The leaker reveals that he’s had word from a source that isn’t his usual insider. And because of this, Shpeshal_Ed warns readers to take the information with a grain of salt.
It appears there are two potential candidates for May 2021’s free PlayStation Plus game for PS5: Disco Elysium, or Godfall.
However, PlayStation Plus subscribers may be getting this Video Pass service for free very soon! And some eagle-eyed fans are spotting a return of PlayStation Home in the future too.
While Disco Elysium just released on PS5 last month, Sony would likely refund players who already purchased it. The same can’t be said for Godfall, which was a relative flop at launch for PS5.
The action game looks pretty and takes advantage of the PS5 hardware in a big way, but it’s certainly not exciting. Especially to those gamers who paid a ridiculous $70 price tag just to have a PS5 game to play at launch.
All the information above is yet to be confirmed, but we’ll likely be seeing the official PS Plus announcement very soon.
UPDATE: PlayStation has now confirmed that the PS5 title for May 2021 is, in-fact, Wreckfest!
But how many gamers will be able to take advantage of this month’s offer? New statistics reveal how many PS5 and PS4 consoles have sold so far!
