PS Direct opened its PS5 restock queue a few moments ago and the experience was less than desirable for some gamers.
PlayStation Direct has been offering more PS5 stock recently.
Restocks from Sony have been more common and efficient.
Some of these restocks are being handled in an invite-only fashion, making things a lot smoother for customers.
Even regular restocks have a queue system. This system makes things smoother than what customers experience with other retailers.
Unfortunately, this recent PS Direct PS5 stock drop was a less than ideal experience according to gamers.
PS Direct Recent PS5 Stock Drop Gamer Reactions
PS Direct’s PS5 restock queue went live a few moments ago.
Some fans got into the queue, just to get their hopes obliterated a few seconds later.
After finally receiving a redirect message, some gamers got an error message.
I got in the que, but the page went invalid when it redirected me to ps direct. I refreshed and it made me wait in que again. Smh— Fight the power (@Lifespoet84) October 21, 2021
Several customers complained of an issue with the system that handles the queue numbers.
This particular mishap was widely reported by gamers on Twitter.
Ps direct is terrible, for the first time I actually get through the queue then it says “you already used your queue number” and I have to go BACK in queue, Sony is ridicule— jordan04352 (@jordan04352) October 21, 2021
One particular post on Twitter suggested that many people were receiving this error because they used an invitation link that did not belong to their accounts.
This would make sense as a measure to keep scalpers away from PS Direct’s PS5 stock.
After so many complaints, a bunch of lucky gamers also rejoiced because they were finally able to get their consoles.

But this did not stop many from Carlton Dancing in joy!
So far, the most secure way to get a PS5 from PS Direct is getting an invite.
Additionally, if PS Direct is not an option for you, GameStop is having an in-store PS5 restock soon.
