You Can Now Pre-Load Modern Warfare & Warzone Update 1.29 on PS4

According to new reports, the next Modern Warfare and Warzone update 1.29 is ready and waiting for PS4 users to pre-load.

It's time for a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, and players can pre-load it right now. However, it appears that while the PS4 file is available, the update isn't set to drop for another few days.

According to PlayStation users online, a new file for Modern Warfare is available to download now. The pre-load allows players to get all 33 GB of the massive install ready for launch when the update goes live.

PC players are out of luck on this one, with no pre-load being made available right now. However, you won't have to wait long before jumping into the new update.

How to Pre-Load Modern Warfare and Warzone Version 1.29

To get the pre-load for Modern Warfare and Warzone's update version 1.29, players need to boot up their PS4 now. Find the game on your console's dashboard, and hit the options button.

From here, select "Check for Update," and your console should detect the new file. Some users may find that the update is already downloading when they connect to the PlayStation network.

It's a hefty update, with a total file size of 33.219 GB of data. Modern Warfare isn't known for its small update sizes, but this suggests that something big is coming to the popular title.

However, it'll be a few days until we find out exactly what update 1.29 has in store. One pre-loaded, the update can't actually be installed until November 10.

Update version 1.29 goes live at 2 AM ET / 7 AM GMT on November 10. For those on Pacific Time, that's 11 PM on November 9.

What's in Modern Warfare and Warzone's Version 1.29 Update

So far, we're very much in the dark regarding what's to come in version 1.29. We do have a little bit of knowledge surrounding minor details of the update's content, however.

Earlier this week, the official Call of Duty blog confirmed that fan-favorite character Sgt. Griggs is set to join the fight. The Modern Warfare character will soon be available in Season Six as part of a new Operator bundle.

As for what else is coming, we can't be sure just yet. Many fans believe that this update could be the start of Black Ops Cold War's collision with Warzone.

We already know that Black Ops Cold War is getting a Prestige system, set to tie in with its predecessor. But the release date for the rumored Cold War map in Warzone is yet unknown.

It's unlikely that this is the update where the map finally arrives, however. We'd imagine Activision would need a lot more space than 33 GB to fit their new area into, given the company's history with update sizes.
