Wigglytuff Build – Pokemon Unite

Evolution

Upon starting the match, you will begin the game as the iconic Jigglypuff. However, at level 4 you will evolve into Wigglytuff.

Unique Abilities

Cute Charm – When the Pokemon is hit by an opposing Pokemon’s attack at close range, it makes that opposing Pokemon infatuated for a short time. Infatuated opposing Pokemon become enthralled and approach the infatuating Pokemon against their will.

The effects of this Ability have a cooldown and cannot trigger on the same opposing Pokemon in quick succession.

Basic Attack – Becomes a boosted attack with every third attack, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon and spinning them around when it hits.

Level 1/3

Pound – 5s Cooldown – Has the user perform a combo attack in front of itself, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon and decreasing their movement speed for a short time when the attack hits.

Defense Curl – 8s Cooldown – Has the user perform a quick roll, granting it a shield and throwing any opposing Pokemon hit by the roll. Hitting an obstacle while rolling will change the direction the user is moving and reset the cooldown of Pound, Double Slap, or Dazzling Gleam.

We would always recommend Pound at level 1 due to the area of effect damage and slow it grants. Although Defense Curl is a good option, Pound is great for clearing wild Pokemon at the start of the game.

Level 4

Rollout – 10s Cooldown – Has the user perform a quick roll, granting it a shield. Also deals damage to any opposing Pokemon hit by the roll and throws them. Hitting an obstacle while rolling will change the direction the user is moving in and reset the cooldown of Pound, Double Slap, or Dazzling Gleam.

Upgrade: Increases the length of time opposing Pokemon are thrown.

Sing – 10s Cooldown – Has the user sing, decreasing the movement speed of nearby opposing Pokemon for a short time. Opposing Pokemon that stay in the move’s area of effect for a while are put to sleep for a short time, which also decreases their Defense and Sp. Def.

Upgrade: Increases the length of time that opposing Pokemon stay asleep.

Sing is definitely the pick here for Wigglytuff given that it slows, sleeps, and even weakens opponents in Pokemon Unite. Furthermore, this is vital for setting up knockouts for your team.

Level 6

Double Slap – 5s Cooldown – Has the user perform a combo attack in front of itself, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon and decreasing their movement speed for a short time when the attack hits.

Upgrade: Increases the number of attacks for this move.

Dazzling Gleam – 4.5s Cooldown – Emits a powerful flash in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon in the area of effect twice.

Upgrade: Also decreases the movement speed of opposing Pokemon for a short time when the first hit of this move deals damage to them.

Dazzling Gleam is a great pick for Wigglytuff given that it grants heavy damage as well as a slow upon the first hit once you’ve upgraded the move.

Level 10

Unite Move – Starlight Recital – Has the user begin performing a recital, granting itself and nearby ally Pokemon a shield as well as removing all status conditions from the affected Pokemon and making them immune to hindrances for a short time.

Starlight Recital is an incredibly powerful move given that it allows you to completely bypass disruptive characters such as Snorlax. Similarly, this Unite Move can be used in order to help engage aggressively or escort your team away from harm.

Wigglytuff Strategy in Pokemon Unite

  • Wigglytuff benefits from being an extremely annoying character to deal with, especially with your sing ability. Your job with Wigglytuff is to put your enemies to sleep, Shell Bell and Amplifier will allow you to get multiple sleeps off in a fight, just make sure you roam around and provide CC for your team.
  • Ninetails is one of the best partners for Wigglytuff given that they can follow up with damage and provide even more disruptive ability.
  • Bear in mind you are not a tank, but your choice of items will give you better sustain out on the field. With that in mind, make sure you are always with a teammate as you aren’t too useful out on your own. Your role requires you to set up kills, so dont get too greedy.
