It’s time for a brand-new Pokemon adventure, with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – check out the box art and new Legendary Pokemon coming to the game.
If you’re a Pokemon fan, you won’t want to miss out on the upcoming Gen 9 of the mainline series. Like the critically-acclaimed Legends: Arceus, Scarlet & Violet is taking the traditional Pokemon experience and adding open-world elements.
This time around, your open-world adventure will feature a lot more Pokemon battling, but you still gotta catch ’em all!

Towns will blend seamlessly into the wilderness, and there are countless Pokemon to be found in the skies, streets, seas, and forests. However, there are also a couple of new Legendary Pokemon you’ll want to catch too!
Don’t miss out on everything we know about Scarlet & Violet’s open world and its region here!
New Legendary Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet – Koraidon & Miraidon
The most exciting part of the trailer was the reveal of two new legendary Pokemon. Both of these new Legendaries were shown to be standing on a cliff and appear to be dragons.
Koraidon is the red Legendary Pokemon that appeared on the left of the trailer and will be exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet.
Meanwhile, Pokemon Violet’s Legendary will be Miraidon, which was on the right side of the screen. Judging by its appearance, it could be an Electric/Dragon type.
It’s also worth noting that the names of the Pokemon hint at what they represent. ‘Korai’ means old or ancient in Japanese while ‘mirai’ means future. But will you be going for the tradition of Koraidon or the high-tech, mechanical-looking Miraidon?
Of course, these new Legendary Pokemon are the cover stars for the new games too!

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Box Art Revealed
Additionally, the trailer revealed the release date for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, alongside the box art for the games.
The box art showcases the two new Legendary Pokemon with a regal border and a scaly background.
Pokemon Scarlet’s cover is a bright red with Koraidon looking to the left and Pokemon Violet has a vibrant purple box with Miraidon looking to the right!

It’s certainly a good time to be a Pokemon fan. After all, 2022 already brought us a AAA release with Arceus, and we’re about to get 2 more! But judging on the new Legendary Pokemon and box art, will you be picking Scarlet or Violet?
If that wasn’t enough to get you excited, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will feature 4-player co-op! This means you’ll be able to catch ’em all with your friends.
