It seems that Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will be giving exclusive forms to new Paradox Pokemon, according to a new leak.

Most mainline Pokemon games have version-exclusive Pokemon, ones not obtainable on the opposite version. For example, back in Pokemon Red and Blue, Oddish and Growlithe could only be found in the former version, while Vulpix and Sandshrew were locked to the latter.

It’s in this way that Game Freak justifies selling two copies of what are essentially the same game. And it also pushes trainers to trade with their friends, or online players, when attempting to catch ’em all.

Recently, we’ve been getting a huge influx of leaks for Gen 9. In case you missed it, here’s what we know about the new Crystal power up mechanic in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

What Are Paradox Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet?

According to new leaks, Paradox Pokemon seem to be Scarlet & Violet’s exclusive ‘mons. Pokemon Scarlet will allegedly feature past variants of Pokemon, while Violet (with its GigaChad professor) will feature future variants.

In that way, several fan-favorite creatures will be getting a makeover, sometimes even alongside a type change.

From what’s currently been reported, Ancient or Future species are Pokemon that have time traveled from the past or future. While these creatures don’t evolve, they do come alongside naturally higher stats and each has its own name and Pokedex number.

It’s worth noting that these exclusive ancient and future Pokemon are not confirmed for now. And while the leaker that’s dropping all these hints is currently anonymous, this information has been compiled by CentroLeaks on Twitter.

In the meantime, take all leaks with a pinch of salt. We’ll have to wait until the official Scarlet & Violet release date to find out the truth.
