It looks like there’s a ‘Mochi Mayhem’ epilogue for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero coming to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and it brings with it a new Mythical Pokemon.

If you were wondering why Gen 9 was lacking in Mythical Pokemon, it appears that Game Freak saved it for the grand finale.

Dataminers have discovered that there’s a brand-new epilogue coming to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and it introduces Pecharunt, a Mythical Pokemon that will appear in Kitakami.

New Mochi Mayhem Epilogue Details

According to the in-game files, Mochi Mayhem is a short epilogue that takes place after the conclusion of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC.

The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet epilogue releases on January 11, 2024.

This epilogue has now been confirmed officially, with its own trailer, which can be seen below:

The DLC will only be available to those who own and have completed the main story of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero – both The Teal Mask, and The Indigo Disk.

The Pokemon Company also reveals that you’ll have to have completed a ‘certain postgame event’ in the base game to take part.

The story takes place in Kitakami, and features characters such as Penny, Nemona, and Kieran making a comeback. In the short epilogue, it appears that several familiar faces will fall under the spell of some strange new mochi being passed around.

According to leakers, the epilogue is only around 1 hour long in terms of actual gameplay, but it does feature a brand-new Mythical Pokemon.

Players will receive a Mythical Pecha Berry Key Item, which they’ll be able to use in at Peachy’s store in Mossui Town to activate the in-game event and summon Pecharunt.

New Mythical Pokemon – Pecharunt

Pecharunt is our long-awaited Gen 9 Mythical for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and will be the focus of the Mochi Mayhem epilogue.

The new Mythical is a Poison/Ghost-Type Pokemon, with a Poison Tera-Type.

Pecharunt has the ability Poison Puppeteer, which causes Pokemon that are poisoned by the creature’s moves to also become confused.

In addition, the Pokemon comes with a brand-new signature move: Malignant Chain.

It looks likely that this Mythical Pokemon was responsible for the Loyal Three’s corruption, as each of The Teal Mask’s Legendaries are wearing a similar purple chain.

We’ll have to wait for an official announcement to see when Mochi Mayhem will arrive for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

However, seeing as dataminers have managed to play though the entire epilogue already, it seems extremely likely that it’ll arrive sooner rather than later.
