The Teal Mask set the stage for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC, but it’s The Indigo Disk that fans should be excited for.
The upcoming DLC contains a ton of new and exciting features, from four new biomes, to new Pokemon, and even a never-seen-before Tera Type!
Here’s a breakdown of everything that players can expect in The Indigo Disk DLC:
Everything Revealed for The Indigo Disk
The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet releases in Winter 2023.
Here’s what we know the upcoming expansion is bringing to the game:
Blueberry Academy
The new school we’ll be visiting in Scarlet & Violet contains a large-scale Terrarium. This brand-new area contains 4 unique regions, filled with Pokemon to encounter.
All somehow constructed under the sea, Blueberry Academy has the following new areas to offer:
- Savannah Biome
- Coastal Biome
- Canyon Biome
- Polar Biome

A New Tera Type
A nineteenth Tera Type is arriving in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet! Although we don’t have an official name for the type just yet, it appears to be a combination of all other types.
Most likely this won’t be a new Pokemon Type, but something unique to the Terastallization phenomenon that has been unseen so far!

The BB League Elite Four
In Blueberry Academy, players will enter the BB League. By battling through each of the four Terrarium regions, trainers can take part in Elite Trials to earn the right to challenge the Elite Four members:
- Lacey
- Crispin
- Amarys
- Drayton
A new challenge awaits, putting your battling skills to the test!

Return of Kieran and Carmine
Those who have played The Teal Mask will already have met Kieran and Carmine, two trainers who study at Blueberry Academy.
They are your main companions in the first Scarlet & Violet DLC, and will be making a return in part 2 as well.

After the events of the first DLC’s story, we see Kieran undergo something of a transformation as he’s left unable to best you and become the partner of Ogerpon.
The young trainer looks to be entering his villain arc, with a new look and a bubbling anger that’s likely to be a major focus of the upcoming storyline.

The League Club
The League Club offers new ways to have fun, such as by allowing players to change up their Poke Ball throw style. In addition, players can even customize The League Club’s club room however they like!
You’ll also be able to invite trainers from Paldea to The League Club, and spend time with them to get to know them a little better – or battle them again!

New Legendary & Paradox Pokemon
We already have a glimpse of The Indigo Disk’s legendary Pokemon Terapagos in the DLC’s key art. However, the mystery of the strange new creature (who also hides inside the amulet of the new Pokemon anime protagonist Liko) is yet to be revealed.

In addition, a new Paradox Raikou, known as Raging Bolt, will be introduced in Pokemon Scarlet.
Meanwhile, Iron Crown, a Paradox Cobalion, will be available in Pokemon Violet.

Flying Koraidon & Miraidon
While the ability to fly (not glide) with Koraidon and Miraidon initially appears as part of an Elite Trial, it appears that flying will eventually be fully unlocked for both Pokemon.
It’s not just for the Terrarium either! Once you unlock the ability to take to the skies, Paldea will be much easier to navigate.

All Starter Pokemon Return
Fans of specific regions can rest easy knowing that their favorite starter Pokemon will be making an appearance in The Indigo Disk!

Every single starter Pokemon, alongside their evolved forms, will be returning in the Scarlet & Violet DLC, leaving nobody out!
And of course, dozens of other fan-favorite Pokemon will also be returning from past titles! In The Teal Mask, over 100 familiar Pokemon finally arrived in Scarlet & Violet, giving us an idea of how many new ‘Mon to expect.
Brand-New Pokemon
And of course, there will be at least a few entirely new faces to catch in The Indigo Disk too! Alongside Terapagos and the new Paradox Pokemon, we’ve already seen one creature make an appearance.

Archaludon is a new evolution of Duraludon, which resembles a bridge. This Pokemon will be the partner of Drayton, one of the BB League’s Elite Four.
That’s all we know about the content coming to The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet for now. We’ll update this article as soon as The Pokemon Company reveals more!
