Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC ‘The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’ Release Date, Price, Story Details

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet finally has DLC on the way, The Pokemon Company just announced during the February Pokemon Presents event.

In the two-part expansion ‘The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’ Pokemon fans will be treated to both ‘The Teal Mask’ and ‘The Indigo Disk’ throughout 2023.

Much like Sword & Shield’s DLC, The Treasure of Area Zero will be split into two parts, each offering a new area to explore.

The Teal Mask

In The Teal Mask expansion, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players will venture beyond the Paldea region on a new school trip to Kitakami.

There, they will encounter the new legendary Pokemon Ogerpon, which appears to be the focus of the DLC.

Students will join another school as part of an outdoor study program, during a trip that coincides with a festival held regularly in Kitakami. Together with their Pokemon, they’ll unravel the mysteries behind the folktales that have been passed down in this tranquil land.

What’s more, 3 other new Pokemon appear in the promotional image, whose names are Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti.

These new Pokemon protect the land of Kitakami and are beloved by the people of the village who crafted stone statues in their likeness.

But before Scarlet & Violet’s DLC even drops, there are two brand-new Legendary Paradox Pokemon arriving now!

The Indigo Disk

In The Indigo Disk, Scarlet & Violet players will leave Naranja or Uva Academy behind to become exchange students at Blueberry Academy, their sister school.

From what we can tell, this is a combat-focused school, where students will have to test their mettle against one another in fierce Pokemon battles.

There, they will come across Terapagos, which seems to resemble Blueberry Academy itself, and features markings based on Pokemon typings.

While The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk are split into 2 parts, they each come together to tell a connected story.

When Pokemon Sword and Shield’s expansions were released, fans were happy to see that Game Freak had taken note of the fan base’s biggest complaints. Many even called The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra major improvements over the base game.

Hopefully, this new expansion will be a similar success for the newer titles. After all, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are in need of some big fixes.
