There’s finally a new major leak for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well as remasters Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond.
It’s been a while since we heard anything about some of the biggest upcoming Pokemon games, but our drought is about to end. With Shining Pearl/Brilliant Diamond releasing this year and Pokemon Legends: Arceus coming in 2022, we’ll soon be jumping back into the popular franchise in a big way.
In case you missed the reveal, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a Breath of the Wild-style Pokemon game that fans have been asking for for years. Meanwhile, Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond are remasters of the original Diamond and Pearl games from the Nintendo DS era.
However, despite knowing what’s to come, we’re yet to hear more about new features coming to either game. That is, until now.
New Details Leak for Pokemon Legends: Arceus & Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
We’ve got new details regarding Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well as the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remasters.
Thanks to the work of a reliable Nintendo leaker known as Samus Hunter, we finally have some more news about the upcoming titles. However, we’re about to hear even more, including release date confirmations at the upcoming Pokemon Presents event before E3 2021.
Before that though, here’s what we now know about the three incoming Pokemon titles. Bear in mind, that despite Samus Hunter being a reliable Nintendo leaker, the following information should still be taken with a grain of salt.

New Pokemon Legends: Arceus Details
Unlike Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be a primarily single-player title. As we predicted, the game’s design follows the philosophy of Breath of the Wild, in terms of both setting and free exploration mechanics.
Samus Hunter also reveals that the game’s combat system will not be what Pokemon players are used to. With seamless battles in the overworld, it appears the Pokemon combat will be a simplified version of the traditional mechanics.
The Nintendo leaker predicts the combat system will be closer to the Let’s Go series but made deeper with new mechanics. These additions will be related to the trainer themselves, and the links formed with their Pokemon.
We can’t wait to hear more, and Nintendo leaks reveal we’re hearing big Pokemon and Zelda news soon!
New Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Leak
Despite Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl appearing to be chibi remakes of the original titles, there’s more than meets the eye in these remasters. Samus Hunter reveals that some Pokemon are getting new forms this time around.
What’s more, the leaker promises the “return of some mechanics that were abandoned in the new chapters”. Could this see the return of Mega Evolution as a staple of the franchise?
It’s not all good news, however, as the Diamond and Pearl remakes will still not return to a National Pokedex. That means there may well be a limited number of Pokemon attainable in the releases.
“This title aims at a single-player experience while still embracing the multiplayer and competitive soul of the series,” the leaker reveals.
