Pokemon GO TCG Crossover Event: Start Date, New Pokemon & More

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Pokemon GO crossover event with Pokemon TCG!

Pokemon GO is getting a huge new crossover with the Pokemon Trading Card Game in the form of an in-game event.

This event will introduce new Pokemon to the game as well as shine a spotlight on some classic Pokemon. Plus, the TCG Crossover event features the return of Meltan and some exciting Collection Challenges too.

Pokemon GO TCG Crossover Event Start & End Date

The Pokemon TCG Crossover event in Pokemon GO will begin on June 16 at 10 AM local time. Unlike most other Pokemon GO events, it will last two whole weeks.

That means you have until June 30 at 8 PM local time to experience everything the event has to offer including catching the new Pokemon. Speaking of which, these are the new ‘Mon you’ll be able to catch during the event.

Let’s hope the TCG Crossover is better than Pokemon GO Fest which fans called the “biggest letdown of the year”!

New Pokemon & Costumed Pikachu – Pokemon GO TCG Crossover Event

There are three new Pokemon coming during the TCG Crossover event in Pokemon GO:

  • Wimpod
  • Golisopod (by evolving Wimpod)
  • Pikachu wearing a Pokemon TCG Hat

Mystery Box & Shiny Meltan

Next, shiny Meltan will be returning as a possible reward from Mystery Boxes in the Pokemon GO TCG Crossover event. Although you’ll need to know how to get Mystery Boxes first.

Pokemon TCG Crossover Event Collection Challenges

The TCG crossover event will also add six new collection challenges to Pokemon GO! Each of these will have varying difficulties and different rewards.

These rewards include XP, a Lure Module an Incubator and encounters with rare Pokemon such as Meltan!

Finally, the Pokemon GO TCG Crossover event will bring back Mewtwo to 5-star Raids. Plus, mega versions of all of the Gen 1 starters will be Raid Bosses for the duration of the event.

The other highlight of the Raids during the event is Wimpod, who will be a 1-star Raid. This is perfect for players who can’t find a Wimpod out in the wild.
