Pokemon GO: Tapu Bulu Raid Guide – Best Strategy, Pokemon, Weakness

Find out how to defeat and catch the newest 5 star raid Pokemon, Tapu Bulu!

The upcoming Spring Into Spring event is set to add Tapu Bulu to 5 star raids! This powerful legendary Pokemon will be available in raids between April 12 and April 26.

To catch Tapu Bulu, trainers will need to first defeat it in a raid battle. This means you have to battle an incredibly strong Pokemon with other trainers.

Once the Pokemon is defeated, its CP will drop to a lower level, and trainers will have the opportunity to catch it. We reccomend stocking up on Razz Berries and Golden Razz Berries, as Tapu Bulu is a difficult Pokemon to catch!

Of course, in order to catch Tapu Bulu, you need to be able to defeat it. Here’s our expert guide to defeating Tapu Bulu in a raid!

Best Strategy To Defeat Tapu Bulu Raid

As with most 5 star raids, Tapu Bulu is impossible to defeat with just one trainer. We recommend tackling Tapu Bulu with at least two other friends.

While Tapu Bulu is a difficult raid boss, we have everything you need to know in order to win the raid. Let’s GO!

Tapu Bulu Stats and Type

Tapu Bulu is a powerful legendary Pokemon with high stats. It has the following stats in Pokemon GO:

  • Max CP: 3865
  • Attack: 249
  • Defense: 215
  • Stamina: 172

Additionally, it is a Grass/Fairy type. This means it has the following resistances in battle:

  • Dragon
  • Dark
  • Electric
  • Fighting
  • Grass
  • Ground
  • Water

This means that you should not attempt to take on a Tapu Bulu Raid using any of the above types. Tapu Bulu has a double resistance to Dragon, meaning Dragon attacks deal very little damage.

Luckily, Tapu Bulu has weaknesses, too. Here is a list of all of Tapu Bulu’s weaknesses:

  • Fire
  • Flying
  • Ice
  • Poison
  • Steel

Furthermore, Tapu Bulu has a double weakness to poison. That means it’s a great idea to take it on with powerful Poison-type moves. If you’ve got some strong Poison-type Pokemon from 12km eggs, now’s your chance to use them!

Tapu Bulu Charged Moves

This means that Tapu Bulu can hit the following types for super-effective damage:

  • Dark
  • Dragon
  • Fighting
  • Grass
  • Ground
  • Ice
  • Normal
  • Psychic
  • Rock
  • Steel
  • Water

Because of this, you need to pick your Pokemon carefully to ensure Tapu Bulu cannot defeat them. Thankfully, we’ve picked out the best Pokemon to choose!

Best Pokemon To Defeat Tapu Bulu Raid

Tapu Bulu is a difficult Pokemon to face because of its powerful attacks. Because of this, the best Pokemon to bring to a Tapu Bulu Raid are strong Poison and Flying Pokemon.

Poison and Flying are two types which Tapu Bulu can never hit with super effective damage. It’s also weak to both Poison and Flying attacks.

Poison is an especially good type to use, because Tapu Bulu has a double weakness to Poison. If you don’t have any strong Poison-type Pokemon, make sure you bring other Pokemon which can learn strong Poison-type moves.
