Pokemon GO Spring Into Spring Event: New Pokemon, Costumes, Dates & More!

A full guide on everything to expect from this year’s Spring Into Spring Event in Pokemon GO!

There’s never been a better time to be a Pokemon GO player, and the newest reason why is the Spring Into Spring event! Kicking off at 10 AM local time on Tuesday, April 12, there are so many exciting things to look forward to.

The event runs until 8 PM local time on Monday, April 18, giving players plenty of time to get involved. There are so many great features to the event, so whether you’re excited to build the best battle team or want to take on Team GO Rocket, there’s something for everyone!

While the recent Mudkip Community Day may have disappointed some fans, here’s why you should be excited!

Everything To Expect From Pokemon GO Spring Event

This year’s Spring Into Spring Event runs for a full week. There’s plenty to enjoy, from bonuses, new Pokemon, and much more. Here’s everything to expect, from new eggs to Field Research!

All Spring Event Bonuses

Most Pokemon GO events have great passive bonuses, and the Spring Into Spring Event is no exception.

For the whole duration of the event, players will have the following active bonuses:

  • 2x Hatch Candy
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance
  • 2x Lucky Egg Duration
  • Team GO Rocket grunts will have more Shadow Whismur and Shadow Exeggcute in their parties

Spring Into Spring Event New Pokemon

While the springtime event is only debuting one new Pokemon, there are lots of new costumed Pokemon available for the first time ever!

Trainers can encounter the following never-before-seen costumed Pokemon wearing flower crowns:

  • Togetic
  • Lopunny
  • Togekiss

The following costumed Pokemon are also available in the wild or through research:

  • Pikachu
  • Eevee
  • Chansey
  • Buneary

Additionally, the event marks the debut of Tapu Bulu, the fearsome guardian deity of Ula’ula Island. You definitely want to make sure to catch this mighty Grass/Fairy legendary in raids!

New Event Boosted Wild Encounters

As with most Pokemon GO events, the spring event boosts the wild encounter rate of certain Pokemon. This means trainers will be more likely to encounter the following Pokemon:

  • Pikachu
  • Nidoran F
  • Nidoran M
  • Jigglypuff
  • Eevee
  • Whismur
  • Buneary
  • Bunnelby

Additionally, if you’re lucky, you may encounter the following rare Pokemon:

  • Chansey
  • Togetic

New 2km, 5km, and 10km Eggs Available!

While the Pokemon available in 12km eggs has stayed the same, the Spring Into Spring Event is changing up other eggs! This means trainers who hatch eggs will be able to encounter some different Pokemon than usual!

New 2km Eggs

The following Pokemon are newly available in 2km eggs:

  • Pichu
  • Igglybuff
  • Azurill
  • Munchlax

Additionally, Pichu will hatch wearing a flower crown!

New 5km Eggs

The following Pokemon are newly available in 5km eggs:

  • Happiny
  • Togepi
  • Exeggcute

Additionally, Happiny and Togepi will hatch wearing a flower crown!

New 10km Eggs

The following Pokemon are newly available in 10km eggs:

  • Chingling
  • Riolu

New Field Research Pokemon

A new event means new Field Research! Trainers who spin a Pokestop will have the chance of some new field research tasks.

While we don’t know for sure what these tasks will be, we predict it will involve catching Pokemon or hatching eggs.

Trainers who complete Field Research have the chance of encountering the following Pokemon:

  • Pikachu
  • Eevee
  • Chansey
  • Buneary

What’s more, all of these Pokemon will be encountered wearing a flower crown!

A Flowery Collection Challenge

Trainers will have the opportunity of completing a collection challenge this month! This will involve catching a wide range of Pokemon wearing flower crowns.

If you complete the task before the Spring Into Spring Event ends, you will earn the following:

  • 2000 XP
  • 2000 Stardust
  • Togetic encounter
  • Elite Collector Medal

This year’s springtime event is just the latest in the series of the Season Of Alola events. With lots more to look forward to in April, there’s never been a better time to start playing Pokemon GO!
