The September 2023 Pokemon GO Community Day features the Bug-type Pokemon Grubbin!
The main attractions of Pokemon GO Grubbin Community Day are that Grubbin will be spawning much more frequently, and that the shiny version of Grubbin will finally be available to catch.
However, there’s plenty more to look forward to in the event, including some great bonuses and a featured Vikavolt attack!
September 2023 Pokemon GO Community Day: Grubbin Date & Time
The Pokemon GO Grubbin Community Day is taking place from 2 PM to 5 PM local time on September 23, 2023.

Even if the main Community Day lasts for just three hours, there will be limited-time Raids taking place after the Community Day finishes.
Pokemon GO Grubbin Community Day Bonuses
- 3x XP for catching Pokemon
- 2x Candy for catching Pokemon
- 2x chance to receive Candy XL from catching Pokemon (Trainers level 31 and up)
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last three hours
- Incense activated during the event will last three hours
- Surprise snapshot encounters
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of three for the day (until 10 PM)
- Trades require 50% less Stardust (until 10 PM)
Grubbin Community Day Raids
Following the Grubbin Community Day event, from 5 PM until 10 PM local time on September 23, 2023, players will be able to battle Charjabug in Tier 4 Raids.
You cannot use Remote Raid Passes in these Raids, however, defeating Charjabug will give you a great in-game bonus. For 30 minutes after winning a Charjabug Raid, Grubbin will spawn around the Gym where you won the Raid!
Featured Vikavolt Attack – Volt Switch
Evolving Charjabug into Vikavolt from 3 PM to 10 PM local time on September 23 will give you a Vikavolt that knows Volt Switch.
This featured attack is an Electric-type fast attack that has 12 power in trainer battles and 14 power in Gym and Raid battles.
Following this, you’ll need an Elite Fast TM to teach Vikavolt Volt Switch.
Grubbin Community Day Research
In addition to some limited-time Grubbin Community Day Field Research Tasks, Pokemon GO players can purchase a ticket for extra Research to complete during the event.
The Plugging Along ticket costs $1 (or local currency equivalent) and includes some great rewards, such as plenty of Grubbin Candy and more encounters with members of the Grubbin family!
