Quilladin is the Tier 4 Raid boss on Pokemon GO Chespin Community Day – here are the best Pokemon to beat it!
Part of every Pokemon GO Community Day is the limited-time Tier 4 Raid boss – an evolved version of the event’s featured Pokemon. Of course, as January 2023’s Community Day features Chespin, the 4-star Raid boss will be Quilladin!
And while defeating Quilladin isn’t as tough as beating a Legendary Raid, it can still prove to be a challenge if you go in unprepared!
How to Beat Quilladin in Pokemon GO Raids
As Quilladin is a Tier 4 Community Day Raid boss, we suggest taking it on with a team of at least three powerful Pokemon trainers. Additionally, these trainers will ideally have strong counters to exploit its weaknesses.
Like all Community Day Raids, players cannot use Remote Raid Passes to battle Quilladin. Only standard Raid Passes and Battle Passes will work.

What Type is Quilladin?
Quilladin is a Grass-type Pokemon, making it pretty simple to counter. It has five resistances and four weaknesses to consider when battling it.
Quilladin Weaknesses
- Bug
- Fire
- Flying
- Ice
- Poison
All of the above types deal 160% damage to Quilladin as it is weak to them.
Quilladin Resistances
- Electric
- Grass
- Ground
- Water
As Quilladin resists all of these types, they only deal 63% damage to it!

Best Pokemon to Counter Quilladin in Raids
The best Pokemon to use in Tier 4 Raids against Quilladin are Reshiram, Chandelure, and Pheromosa.

When is Quilladin in Pokemon GO Raids?
Quilladin is in Pokemon GO Raids from 5 PM to 10 PM local time on January 7, 2023. This is part of the Chespin Community Day event!
It is unlikely to ever return to Raids again after this event, so this may be your one chance to beat Quilladin!
Is There Shiny Quilladin in Pokemon GO?
Yes, there is a shiny version of Quilladin in Pokemon GO, but you cannot catch one from the encounter you get by winning a Quilladin Raid.
If you want a shiny Quilladin, you must first catch a shiny Chespin and then use 25 Chespin Candy to evolve it into a shiny Quilladin.
Like the shiny Chespin it evolves from, Quilladin’s shiny form is brown instead of green. Check out our Pokemon GO shiny odds guide to find out the exact chances of encountering shinies!
