Mega Garchomp has finally come to Pokemon GO, and the game is holding a Raid Day to celebrate the occasion!
Garchomp is a fan-favorite Pokemon, yet players have had to be very patient waiting for its Mega Evolution to arrive in Pokemon GO.
Fortunately, developer Niantic is giving players the perfect opportunity to earn Garchomp Mega Energy as Mega Garchomp is making its Pokemon GO debut in the November 2023 Raid Day event.

Mega Garchomp Raid Day Date & Time
The Mega Garchomp Raid Day event is taking place from 2 PM until 5 PM local time on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

This gives players just three hours to battle Mega Garchomp, earn Mega Energy and maybe even catch a shiny Garchomp!
Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be active during the Mega Garchomp Raid Day event:
- The Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 10
- This is active from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM local time on November 11
- You can receive up to five additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Garchomp from Mega Raids
These bonuses allow players to take part in plenty of Raids and also make this event the best time to get a shiny Garchomp!
Can You Get Shiny Garchomp on Raid Day?
Yes, you can get the shiny version of Garchomp during the Mega Garchomp Raid Day event. After winning a Mega Garchomp Raid, there’s a chance that the Garchomp you encounter will be the shiny version.
This is excellent news for shiny hunters as, previously, the only way to get shiny Garchomp was by evolving shiny Gible.
Additionally, for the duration of the event, Garchomp’s shiny odds will be boosted.
The usual shiny rate for Pokemon encounters you earn from winning Mega Raids is 1 in 64. However, as this rate is boosted on Mega Garchomp Raid Day, we expect Garchomp’s shiny odds to be 1 in 25!
Mega Garchomp Raid Day Ticket
Players can purchase a ticket for the Garchomp Raid Day for $5 (or local currency equivalent) to gain access to the following additional bonuses for the event:
- 8 additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
- This brings up the total to 14
- Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raids
- 50% more XP from Raids
- 2x Stardust from Raid Battles
Even if these bonuses are pretty useful, this ticket is quite expensive for what it offers. Therefore, it is probably only a good purchase for hardcore players who want to try to catch a shiny Garchomp and earn Rare Candy XL.
Raid Day Shop Bundle
Finally, Pokemon GO is introducing an in-game Raid Day bundle that includes 3 Remote Raid Passes and 2 Premium Raid Passes.
Players can purchase this bundle during the event from the in-game shop for 595 PokeCoins or from the Pokemon GO Web Store for $4.99 (or local currency equivalent).
