Best Counters To Mega Charizard Y

Mega Charizard Y Type Weakness

Unlike the Charizard X form, Mega Charizard Y keeps the original typing as a Fire/Flying Pokemon. As such there are 7 Pokemon types that it is resistant to:

  • Ground
  • Fighting
  • Steel
  • Fire
  • Fairy
  • Bug
  • Grass

Most of these moves using these types will only deal 63% damage. The exceptions are Bug and Grass, which deal a tiny 39% damage!

However, there are 3 types that are super-effective against this raid boss. Utilize the following to take it down quickly & easily:

  • Rock
  • Water
  • Electric

Water & Electric type moves will deal 160% damage to the boss. Rock type moves will deal a whopping 256% damage to Mega Charizard Y due to both Fire and Flying being weak to Rock types!
